Күн бұрын

I'm finally getting around to repotting one of my favorite succulents - a Haworthia limifolia I purchased from IKEA back in 2015. I'll show you how I repot her, and you'll get to see what's been happening down in the pot. (Hint: She has at least one baby! 😉)
Care tips: Bright indirect light, fast draining soil, water when the soil has been dry for a few days, making sure the soil is drying in a week or less.

Hummingbirds love the flowers! I love Haworthias, especially Limifolias. They are very forgiving plants and do well in pots inside on windowsills in winter and outside the rest of the year with east sun when temps are above freezing here in Humble, TX. Mine are protected from rain under cover of patio. I tend to overwater, so I pot in shallower pots.

Great video Andrea, thanks for sharing this beauty with us! These varieties really do produce some major root systems. She's gorgeous. I've never heard of using cat litter mixed in the soil🤔 have you used that in the past? I just like to use perlite and pumice with my succ soil, works great and the perlite helps to break down the cost of the pumice.

Great video, thank you. Really like how you love on your plants - they know 😊 Question… I have one of these that’s several years old and will be separating her out (there are several together in one pot). She flowers like crazy and keeps making babies so I assume they’re happy. Many have gotten quite leggy tho - should I trim that back? Bury it? I do t wanna harm any of them but I also wanna get them in separate pots. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you kindly, and love the name of your channel 😅

Sorry for the delayed reply! I'm not sure what you mean by leggy... at least not for these Haworthias. You're welcome to use the Ask Andrea feature here so we can get into it - sucsforyou.com/ask-andrea/

Thanks for your lovely videos. I try to follow the care guide for haworthias but I have put about 4 in a large pot but I guess when watered is too much for the plant? This results in root rot, then death. When I put one baby haworthia in a 2 inch pot, I water sparingly especially in fall and winter then realize the soil is extremely dry. I've lost a lot of plants. Any tips will be appreciated.

What a lovely plant! I have a very small version and i looooove the feel of its leaves, and my tiny one had babies! Am very excited for them all to grow. You mentioned the old/finished soil... is there a way to refresh the soil? Im thinking of starting a small compost situation, but even if that does work im not sure how it would help my succulent mix, which is primarily lava rock and perlite (what ive found in this area so far).

Thank you Gustas! It's warm here most of the year so I water 2-3 times a month as long as the soil is drying out for a few days between waterings. She gets east-facing sun but no direct light. And yes, they can be very slow growers... I'm not sure of your climate but they will go dormant when it's uncomfortably hot or cold for them.
