Pretty sure this one must be a set costume for Bloody Sunday (2002) because there's so many 60 patt smock in that movie, not sure all those smocks would be original.

It could well be !! I know a load of costume jackets were used in the movie 'The Wild Geese' (1978) too ! Thanks for watching

I think you mean 1968 pattern. 1960 pattern was green, slightly shiny.

Thanks so much for watching ! There was a 1968 pattern jacket issued around 1971. There was also a 1960 pattern DPM issued after the 1950 patt. green jacket you correctly talk about. It's funny though.. because when you have actually worn these patterns as a Royal Marine Commando.. you tend to remember them !!

This is the jacket commonly referred to as 1966 pattern although it’s official designation is jacket combat 1960 pattern.

Never heard either of those designations. The pattern 68/70 jackets I was issued were fully lined. I was issued a half lined 85 jacket, that was terrible. The pattern 90 jacket I was issued was also half lined, IIRC, but was much better quality material.

@@jimmyjohnson7027 - Only James Smith & Co and Cookson & Clegg made the DPM 1960 Pattern smock and trousers under no more than around 6 contracts...........seems that a fair few were made however on account of the number of survivors today..........no hood made for these though as too short-lived.........they continued to be issued throughout the early 1970s whilst stocks remained but were vastly outnumbered by the 1968 pattern which most thought was the first pattern of DPM used by the British Army😀
