I'm totally sold on SunnySky motors. They sound great, spool up quick and tons of power. I have three now and just put one on my Katana 3-D.

Me too. I think they are the best motor you can buy at any price right now.

Hey great Maiden. I really like this to be my first plane as I own a few wings . Would you not recommend just getting the PNP version or get the kit and get the sunny sky motors you speak of ? Thanks. Nick

I haven't looked at this one in a while, so not sure what motors are in the PNP, but I LOVE those v3 Sunnysky motors.

I'll tell you what, that camera may have made a believer out of me on CMOS. I really want to see it on goggles. Sunnysky motors with just 7x5's and these motors can handle 8x6 no problem. I love these motors. The plane pulled hard and felt plenty fast enough--almost too fast even.

I know the model doesn't come with a foam "blank" so you could use the runcam HD cam in the GoPro location like the ZOHD models do, but do you think you'll make something yourself, so that you don't have to mount the runcam hd on top of the fuselage?

It felt perfect on the factory marks to me. It took a few clicks of down elevator but after that it was beautiful. Watch the landing. Just a little hot but I didn't try too hard to slow it down. Definitely not tail heavy.

Twins are nice. And this one is good looking FPV model, which is rare... What about that flight computer? It's not running Inav,.rigjt?
@RCVideoReviews3 жыл бұрын
Kopilot Lite on this one. Link is in the description. I like iNav a lot, but it's also nice to have a simple and easy FC too. I opted to keep this build simple. I still have an AR Wing Pro and Strix Goblin to maiden. Both of those have iNav. This plane has grown on me substantially since I got it. Banggood originally offered it for review and I kind of didn't want to do it, but I'm glad I did. It flies great, sounds great, has plenty of capacity. My first impression is that it's just a fundamentally very sound design.
@grim-upnorth3 жыл бұрын
@@jimsnodgrass8454 The biggest thing I miss with the kopilot is the OSD. If you don't intend on flying too far, then the kopilot is just fine, as you can have your FPV camera display your battery voltage. But I like to review my flight DVR footage and study things like amps drawn for a particular speed, altitude information and the all important "home" arrow when flying in less than familiar locations. Kopilot is also great for LOS models as well, for that little extra insurance for not much extra $$
@theoztreecrasher26473 жыл бұрын
Interesting that you decided to switch on Stabilization after trimming out the Plane before landing and doing the required radio calibration. Something us old farts, who use Kopilot exclusively because we can't fathom the complexities of inav (and TV remotes) these days, have become familiar with. Here give it to Grandpa Junior! 😜 😊
@RCVideoReviews3 жыл бұрын
I did calibrate before flying. Sometimes you can get away with a little bit of trim while using an FC, but not in this case. No big deal, I'll just run the calibration and level routine again, dial the aileron down just a touch and it should be good as gold.
@theoztreecrasher26473 жыл бұрын
@@RCVideoReviews Was just taking the extremely rare opportunity to take the mick, John. 😊 With the Tx trims removed, stabilize selected and control surfaces level, set the plane up level and nose up a few degrees, then do the sticks to "down and in" FC calibration followed by radio calibration. Fly in manual only, add any minor trim needed, land and redo radio calibration only and should be good to go in Stabilize and RTH. (Added for the benefit of the punters - I do know you know this. 😜) I notice that you are doing more of the longer "live" sessions lately. Useful for a lot of folks but I hope you will keep up the short snippets vids too. Us Old Farts find them very helpful. 😊

@RCVideoReviews3 жыл бұрын
Ray, I don't think so. Given the choice between the two I would always take the T tail. I just don't see an advantage in switching over. The T tail flies perfectly.
@rayster573 жыл бұрын
@RC Video Reviews yeah I've never flown a v tail so I have nothing to compare. Like you I don't see the advantage. I've heard less drag but I don't see it as that significant. They nick named the full size Bonanza Beechcraft a Dr. killer for a reason. 😬😬😬 To clarify the Bonanza was fast and very and attractive to wealthy doctors however it had a tendency to kill beginner pilot's. FYI, It had a cruise speed of 200 mph.

The sunnysky is a lot of overpower and lots of dead weight and lots of money for just a 7" prop, for a powerful, excellent, light and cheap motor take the Mamba 2308. Which is already way above the spec sheet of the Dragon 2!
@RCVideoReviews3 жыл бұрын
Do you have a US link for the Mamba 2308 that has it in stock? How much is it? How much does it weigh? How much power does it make with a 7x5 on 4s? How much thrust does it make? I didn't think $22 was anywhere near what I'd call overpriced.
@Mateyhv13 жыл бұрын
@@RCVideoReviews nope $22 is not much, unfortunately seems that Diatone is not producing the 2308 anymore courtesy of shifting mostly to tiny quads sector... Fortunately I still have the 2308 on a Lidl glider and its a beast even on 4s 7" prop, originally planned for 6s. I should have picked a couple more 😩
@RCVideoReviews3 жыл бұрын
Trust me when I tell you, these Sunnysky motors are a very nice option for this plane. Straight bolt-on with no mods and you don't have to "punch it" to get very respectable speed. In fact, I would argue that these motors will wind up being quite efficient with regard to flight time.
