The Geckos can see the red light by the way, they just perceive it slightly differently than we do being tetrachromatic, it almost certainly bothers them to some degree.

Nice to see someone so dedicated to looking after these kinds of reptiles. Some people get them then later on find they dont have the right size tank to keep them in and end up wanting to re-home. Always do your research before buying it saves a lot of time and money in the long run and the animals dont have to be stressed out being moved somewhere else.

If you are having problems getting the heat up for the snakes try a higher watt heat bulb or try using 2 heat bulbs. When I use to have a green iguana I had issues keeping him warm so i got him a higher watt heat bulb and it worked.

I have a juvenile red eared slider and it has a slight problem with pyramiding. I've had it for about a year and a half and I have it on a diet of repot sticks, feeder fish, but I can't get it to eat it's greens. I don't have this problem with my other two turtles (a ouachita map turtle and a painted turtle). Do you have any tips?

Skink looks just like my old blue toung swing "Blue", who passed away 2 years ago. he lived for about 7 years with us and he was my first lizard and I'm about to get a snake so him and my other reptiles kind of helped me get more used to reptiles from mammals.

question, how do you power all these? I only have 6 outlets in my room and some extra added to the original 6 , but I currently already 3 fish tanks and they use 2 outlets each some 3 plus I have like a lot of electronics running in my room but Ive been really wanted a bearded dragon (ofc doing all the right reseach) and that would be about another 4 or more outlets needed, would this cause a problem from using so much power? I do have 2 betta with 2 10 gallons tanks which they like having but I could use a divider to minimize the outlets. but I'm sure you use lots if outlets, how do you do it and is there anything you'd reccomend to me?

My room is a massive mess of wires and extension cords, I have no clue how I haven't blown a circuit yet. Sounds like you'll be fine adding a beardie - I really only use two outlets for mine. One for heat, one for UV. If you live somewhere cold you'll need a third for nighttime heat.

What would you recommend as a naturalist substrate for leopard geckos? I have reptile carpet right now so there's no worry of impaction. But I want a more natural type of tank. Thanks

I don't have as much experience with leos, but I would check out a bioactive forum or group. Pretty sure a mixture of about 25% soil, 75% sand is appropriate? So long as the animals are healthy and the substrate is fine, there isn't much risk of impaction. You could also experiment with Excavator clay...

Leopard geckos, blue tongue skinks, crested geckos, and bearded dragons are definitely the best for beginners in my opinion.
