For anyone wondering about enclosures its best to not have a top lid (seen in vid) as its more likely to destroy/disturb their hammock :)

I was thinking the same thing. You could easily flip these enclosures over and have that small lid as the bottom filled with substrate and that way they would build their hammock away from the opening.

I loved hearing you open up about your schooling and how much youtube helped you in your journey through life. That's how I feel about dog grooming. I only made it a couple semesters in college before I decided to drop out and pursue a full time career as a dog groomer. It truly felt like I had found my calling in something I was passionate about that also fully supported me financially. I get to go to work every day knowing I have financial stability doing something I truly enjoy! I'm so glad you blew up and had enough eyes on your channel to be able to make this a full time job and it's awesome the friends you've made along the way and how you're able to document amazing traveling trips like going to Madagascar. I like that he said right away they are a good way to get over fear of spiders, I loved them as a child (like 5 or so) and was fascinated, not sure what changed over the years but I have been terrified since I was maybe 8 or 9, and I don't recall ever having any bad experiences. I never had a fear of spiders as a kid until I got bit by one. But jumping spiders have always held a spot in my heart. Even now I have so many climb on my car as young as just hatchlings and ill sit and have conversations 😂 so much so when they ready to go they nest not far. So every 2 yrs I have another family on my car. 😂 zebra jumping spiders who aren't as friendly and have venom. But I love them regardless and they don't mine me. My favorite car ride was with another species of them who sat and listened to me talk about my day and when I parked he left. 😂

Actually, I overcame my arachnophobia in my teenage-years. I didn't know much about spiders and I didn't really know jumping spiders. I saw a documentary about a methode, to shock yourself with forcing you to touch siders. So I did and it worked for me. I took a Housespider on my hand and she or he stood very calm and just sat there for a minute. I saw, they can be really nice animals and afterwards I learned a lot about spiders. I have some daddy-long-legs in my room, to handle the flies around my plants. They are so nice and in winter, they even take food from me. Some day, I will also have a jumping spider, to care for.

Living in Texas I have jumping spider babies hop into my house every week. If the cats don't get them first I usually toss them back outside. Most appear to be the same species you have here. One big boy had a perfect smile on its butt. :) Anyway some months ago I found another wandering baby and this time out of curiosity I put it in with my Abronia... She has a large established bio active terrarium that has plenty of tiny ghost white isopods and a few gnats I wanted gone. It's cool you post this because I just spotted it and it's burrow on the cork bark. Looks to be living the life!

Any spray bottle with an adjustable spray knob works fine. Just be sure to tighten it to make a fine mist spray. You'll easily figure it out.

I just found your channel and your so detailed which I so appreciate. I'm OCD. I will be a first time spood mom. I have a few questions if you don't mind. 1- What is it that you feed the baby spiders? 2- When they start coming out of the hammock do you start seperating them then? I saw another video were they suggested to keep them together for awhile before seperating them, so I'm confused as to when they should be separated? 3- How soon do babies start making their hammock? Do they do this in their 2oz cups? I did the air holes on the lids and now saw that you turn then upside down. I see you also do holes around container as well. I'll do that now as well. We have Audax and Johnsonii and I don't build habitats … I just let them roam the house and yard. They come in and say hello and clean the house of nasty insects and then I go out and great them in the garden. Truly some of the most beautiful animals to evolve on this blue marble!

You said it 💯.. iv been watching more on the jumping spiders to curb my fear.. its more a jump scare though with these spiders.. anything that jump scares me makes me freaked out.. So if i see one pop out and suprise apear ( i jump myself ).. iv callmed myself though and calm me as i see a spider.. sometimes i kinda look at them... Im kinda freaked out more of the black ( green fangy things) look like body builders ( muscly).. im liking the fuzy brown ones more .The dominant oogie boogie on the backs is cool.. plz forgive me for being ignorant.. im trying.. great video... Mmmmmmm...if I had to go with a name for the girl I guess Autumn or Hazel. They seem like really good name for her. Also I loved spiders ever since I was little and Jumping Spiders were ALWAYS my fav spider. Sadly I never been able to keep them due to rules my parents put into place about bringing insects into the house and raising them. So I wasn't allowed to do it anymore so it really crushed my dream having spiders as pets. But I'm moving out to my grandmother's place and talk to her about owning some spiders. Jumping Spiders of course. Then...I don't know...may even start a career out of it and be on KZbin myself. Though I'm Camera shy and it'll definitely show for my videos if I do go down that route or I'll start small and work my way up I'm not sure. But spiders are happening. Weather or not I share my knowledge on them in a video that'll all be determined later in life.
