Take it from a gearhead who does amateur racing and has been racing go-karts since he was 8. He handled that the wrong way entirely. First, never go that fast in the rain. Even if it's only slightly wet out. Second, if you start to hydroplane, any corrections must be made carefully. Avoid all sharp inputs (to steering, throttle, or brake) and DO NOT EVER SLAM ON THE BRAKES. If you do, you will lose all control. Let the car decelerate on it's own if possible. Engine brake by downshifting rather than using the pedal and if you must use the pedal, apply it slowly and gradually. Try to steer into the skid and let the back end right itself. You may overcorrect, so be prepared to do this more than once. If you're doing it right, you should have to turn the wheel less and less to correct it each time. But the best defense? Giving yourself time to react to anything so you don't make sudden moves out of panic.

@@anonony9081 He didn't say faked, he said intentional. You can intentionally hydroplane. The kid purposefully got in the wreck
@MereologistАй бұрын
@@anonony9081 Yes... he hydroplaned. Why did he hydroplane? He was going too fast, and in his own video he admits that he knows he was going too fast. He wasn't paying attention to the road, and in his video you can see him looking at his phone after admitting he is in a dangerous situation. All the other cars are bogged down. He was quite, quite aware he was doing something likely to cause an accident... and was only pushing harder for the accident. And we can then ask why did he do that? Some will, I suppose, wave it off as just an unaccountable youth behaving unaccountably, but as others mentioned, this is actually not the first time for him and the last time worked out really well. Why WOULDN'T he intentionally crash after profiting from the last crash? Look at all the attention he's gotten! People who never heard of him now all know he wrecks expensive cars! And some proportion of them will now tune into his channel to see what he's going to do next...

I keep wondering to myself, as a Gen Z who will be in her mid-20s next year, how many more years before they start getting older as "influencers" begin to fade? We all know the lies on the wall, as they can't do this forever. I mean, they'll eventually get out of touch with people in their personal lives and reality, and their audience will stop watching them. I think it's just me, but now that I'm getting older, I don't really care about clout and internet dramas. They're just a waste of time. Also, don’t text and drive. We learned about this back in elementary school. What happened to us?

Yeah, I don’t see being a Kik “prankster” or whatever this kid is being a life-long career. The iPad kids and influencers will have to grow up someday and they are actively making their adulthood harder by doing this stupid stuff. Shout out to the zoomers that aren’t falling for the brain rot and have actual lives worth living.

I'm twenty-nine and feel the same way. Internet culture is poison and will not age well. My dream is to write novels, and I used to be afraid that the "book" Twitter/KZbin/Tumblr/Goodreads hive mind would ruin my career because I don't write pandering woke stories. Three years ago, I was hit by a car and needed to be hospitalized. I no longer worry what terminally online "influencers" think.

As a Gen. Z'er who turns 23 this December, I second this sentiment. I often wonder what will happen to Western Gen. Z'ers when we reach our equivalent of 'Millennial' status.

@@talithakoum3922 I'd be more worried that books as a medium are becoming obsolete more so than the need for woke content if I were in your shoes. I still read quite a lot, but I rarely see people in public (trains/buses etc) reading a book like back in the 80's/90's. If I may, have a read of "The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat" by Oliver Sacks, it's a great read. Very much outside my wheelhouse (engineering) but a fascinating read all the same. Stay well mate and I hope life finds a way for you.
