That woman is nuts. It's his car. She's riding Lyft by choice. She can choose another method of transportation or another driver. Just like he gets to choose what he puts in his car. For example, I have asthma and have trouble with cigarette smoke, so if I use Lyft I always call the driver before pickup and ask if he/she smokes or allows smoking in the car (I explain why I'm asking). If the answer is yes, I just get a different driver before they even pick me up. I don't ask them to completely change for me. I just do what I need to. It's not a big deal. All these pansy asses that get offended by everything now are ridiculous.

first off, in a bunch of states it's straight up illegal to record someone without their knowledge. and secondly, I've had Lyft drivers who I think are kind of inconsiderate of their passengers, either because they listen to music and radio in a foreign language or they are flamboyantly religious and over the top. Yeah, I think that's a bad thing to do because you're in customer service, but I'm not gonna make them out to be evil for it. Thank you MrRepzion for your commentry and your insight. I thought I was going a bit nuts. I got so incensed with this display of idiocy that I imagined I was losing the plot. This woman has to be the most vile, offensive, ignorant, messed up person I have ever come across in all my years of internet trawling. I was so offended by her wining and condescending tone spewing vitriol at a man man just doing his job that I headed off in search of my old twitter account (last used about 3 years ago) just so I could give her a peice of my mind. I'm not surprised she closed her account and disappeared up her own arse. She knows how wrong she is but will never admit it (not even to herself) It's one thing to be verbally attacked by someone with intelligence for being in the wrong but this airhead bullied a perfectly reasonable human being because she thought she could. I don't know how he stayed calm but if that would have been me taking the insults I would have dragged her out of the car and bitch slapped her into the middle of next week. (completely out of character for me) I think It's only a matter of time before someone with a short fuse does then she'll really have something to winge about and when it happens I hope they catch it on video and put it on youtube.

I was just incredibly impressed by the drivers ability to stay calm and respectful while still standing up for himself. The worst thing about crazies like her is that most of us just placate them to end the exchange and they end up feeling like their arguments are valid. In reality most people just don't want to waste their time arguing with someone who is so self involved and beyond reason. I doubt she has ever even spoken to a Hawaiian outside workers when she's on vacation. Hawaiians I know are upset that the government is selling sacred land to Disney or Hilton but still can't find money in the budget for schools and libraries to stay open. Hawaiians love sharing their culture and they tend to approach the world with kindness and generosity. " Living Aloha " is part of everything a Hawaiian does.
