Your increase wheel diameter experiments is basically what lead to the notorious Tsar Tank. I'd like to see the big wheels on a four wheel chassis, maybe with 4 wheel drive. Also, what if you added rubber for traction? I think that would make things work better. Or, what would happen if you just kept adding wheels? What's the limit to the gap you can cross if you just keep adding powered axles? Is there a maximum gap to vehicle length ratio?

So something i actually did to make up credit in my lego robotics class in high school was to design a car with square wheels that worked, and i feel in that first example square wheels would be superior because it could get leverage on the sides of the tables and push itself up and over the gap. Thinking about this more, probably octagonal wheels or maybe hexagonal would be better. I remember those square wheels made a hell of a racket and didnt get much grip, mostly just hopped forward at a random pace. Not effective but somewhat functional.
@theseangle

Or just regular wheels with a good grip / indent pattern
@pyromaniac000000
@pyromaniac000000 2 жыл бұрын
@@theseangle trying to find wheels like that at that small of a size would be difficult. Things like that dont scale down very well. Tho i think something could be done, like they do up north you could do wheel chains, the way they use them to give wheels better grip in snow and ice could also be used to grip the table a bit more effectively.

@@pyromaniac000000 aah sorry I interpreted it wrongly. Anyways will they be effective on a table?snow and mud can be moulded according to the chains hence providing better grip but a table is a pretty rigid surface.
@pyromaniac000000
@pyromaniac000000 2 жыл бұрын
@@thelogician3845 well really it just needs some way to get some amount of leverage on the too side of the table. Round wheels will get stuck because they can only get grip on the bottom and not the sides, once there is nothing below them they cant get grip. Having not round wheels or chains means they can rotate until one side can push directly down on to the top of the table and get just enough lift to keep going. Gives you away to put downward force from the wheels on the sides not just the bottom

for some reason unlike a lot of clickbait channels or channels that work off of one good video but the rest are clickbait, BEC manages to always deliver lmao like even if it's just a simple gear reduction they take it to the extreme and it just crosses into amazing territory

1:50 "Use a microscope to see *IF* it's moving" I'm sorry, but did someone think it wouldn't be moving just because you can't see it with your bare eyes? Why would it NOT spin?

Let me try to explain it to you in terms you'll understand. Maybe the gear could be stationary, and only move in small chunks every now and then vs. moving very slightly at a constant rate. If that is the case, then with enough gears the time between chunks of movement would be so long that the gear is effectively still.

When you're spinning the wheel really fast (e.g. 17000 RPM), stick something between the spokes. Something other than your finger. Also, somebody else suggested letting the 24000 RPM cheap wheel go loose.

When you're going really fast, it becomes hard to put something in between: it gets pushed out of the way by an oncoming spoke before you get too deep.
