I seem to remember that sometimes drivers would flip out if you hit them and pursue you endlessly even in the original versions. The games' version of these cities were terrible places to live and I guess these random NPCs had severe road rage. ...The extra circling is new, though.

i remember in Vadim M’s 2nd video comparing the old Wardrum Studios remaster to the original version, he said that the traffic pursuing you after a crash only happened in the PC version of the original. so it was either a bug left in the definitive edition, or it was a cut feature on the consoles

@@TheRageLivesOn It was not a bug, it was a feature but they probably realized it would be too annoying and cut it ahead of the PS2 launch. Then they brought it back on the PC version because the PC version was built from a PS2 beta build. Dead NPCs floating could happen on all versions as well depending on how you ran them over. Finally, the traffic getting messed up could also happen on all versions... but maybe it's more common in the Defective Edition? The rest are all Defective Edition certified bugs though. ^^ Also, this """remaster""" is based off the PC version which was used to build the 10th anniversary edition (mobile) which was then used to help create this monstrosity. Nothing like rebuilding a game on top of 2 broken ports.

@@Juho.S. You and another commenter said that. Is there something you'd like to confess, piracy perhaps? JK, I have played both pirated and official versions of the original release. Maybe the glitch existed but was a lot less common and was hard to trigger, like maybe you need a very specific set of button presses, need to be in a specific spot on the map, and needed to have specific weapons on you etc. I am only saying this because I remember a different glitch that only I encountered in my entire friends and family group that played GTA VC. I was once, and only once, able to get into a car that I exploded using the "bigbang" cheat code. Not only that but the game treated the blown up car like it still had an engine and could be driven.

I think that developers/publishers need to have a better understanding on the difference between software and hardware, honestly. A lot of the issues you see seem to come from this weird idea that people have that porting a game is easy. A game meant to be played as software on PC needs a lot of work and time to be played on different hardware. The problem seems to be that once the PC version is completely, they only spend a month porting it to consoles. That's why the console version usually sucks. Look at Doom on the Switch. They took their time on the port, and it plays pretty well even though it came out pretty late. Then look at Cyberpunk being rushed onto the PS4 and you can immediately see what I'm talking about.

Or battlefield 2042 or CoD Vanguard or the Alan Wake remaster or Madden 22 or the diablo 2 remaster and I'm almost certain there are more I'm forgetting about. Seriously, 2021 might go down as one of the worst years for AAA games in a long long time. It feels like 80% of everything released by a big AAA in the 2nd half the of the year has been bogged down by serious technical issues or is just blatantly unfinished but shipped anyway.

I just wanna mention that aggressive drivers isn't something Definitive Edition added or bugged, it's just how it is in GTA:SA... could Grove Street do something so they wouldn't endlessly follow your car or at least if you exit the car they would exit too and engage in hand-to-hand combat? They could've, but they didn't. Floating corpses also thing that happened a lot last time that i replayed SA, but it's nice to see them come back in "Definitive Edition", _how could we enjoy the game without floating corpses? It's integral part of the game_

Here's a weird thing I noticed. The aggressive car glitch at 5:16 is acting just like the bug that happens with bears in "Red Dead Redemption 2". Sometimes they will glitch when you toss down a tied up NPC and will endlessly run circles around them. So it's odd this glitch somehow is happening in this terrible D.E. version of the trilogy (which are just poorly done mobile ports).

What happened to Rockstar? the Suits decided GTA Online was making enough money and got rid of the developers to not have to pay them, and now that's not making so much anymore, saw an opportunity to make quick cash for old games. But since they have no developers, they outsourced the development to whoever did cheap & quick: Grove Street Games, previously War Drum Studios, of San Andreas mobile port fame. Being able to change their names to something related to Rockstar was probably part of their payment, too

The originals were some of my favorite games ever made and I've spent hundreds of hours on each of them. I run my own retro game business and anytime I get any of these in and pop them in to test them I get stuck for sometimes hours playing them so you have to expect I was excited to hear they were being remastered.... Until I heard about the bugs so I didn't buy them... THEN they were split up and some put on Xbox game pass and others on playstation now (I don't remember which was on which) so I was HYPED to get to play them.... These games that I can't even test for less than 20 mins before reselling let me down so much that I quit playing each after mere minutes of playing and have never gone back to retry them. Rockstar really let me down with these. I was hoping for so much more.

Quick technical question: My friend bought the games separately before the definitive edition but hasn’t played them yet (they are in his library on the PS4). His brother got the definitive edition for Switch (a complete dumpster fire) and also on his PS4. The brother deleted his copies for the new one and bought the new one. Since they were both a bad experience he tried re-downloading his previous copies but cannot because rockstar deleted them. So out of curiosity, if my friend were to download the games from his library, would he be playing the previous version or would he be playing the definitive version of the GTA games? I'm pretty sure whenever you buy a game off steam you are able to redownload them even if they no longer have a store page. I think (not 100% sure) but if PS removes it you can no longer download it. Same thing happened to P.T if I'm right.

If he redownloads the versions on his library they'll be the originals. This isn't a reforged style release as far as I can tell. I was able to redownload Vice City after they delisted them from steam. Also they have apparently relisted the games after the fallout of the definitive edition.
