The Renault 5 GT TURBO got wheel alignment issues. But before getting that sorted I need to fix a broken wheel bearing and a broken steering rod. Today its the bearing! You can support me on Patreon! / seasidegarage

I went to school with a girl whose family had a 5 sat on their driveway for years (this was late 90s to 2001), on google streetview, it was still there as of 2009 when they took their imagery of the place, the thing never moved an inch... :P

Great video of the Renault 5 .I think I would be inclined to put a blanket around the hub to when pressing the bearing out. i love your videos. watching from bonnie Scotland.

Much easyer way to remove the inner race is to cut across it diagonal then hitting the grove with a chisel an it will split alowing u to slide it off

Wouldn't a "flame wrench" expand the bearing race enough to allow a chisel or screwdriver to get behind the race to pry it off?
@danglee17862 жыл бұрын
@@steverandall5814 iv also seen that a guy puts hub a pole an spins it while heating the race which causes it too fall off due to it expanding Not having an oxy acetylene I just use the chisel method

Looks like you must have had all that apart before, I was expecting all the bolts and nuts to be rusted solid!
@SeasideGarage2 жыл бұрын
I changed coils on this one a year back so yes. :)
@Phiyedough2 жыл бұрын
@@SeasideGarage Best to call them springs or coil springs. If you talk about coils people tend to think of ignition coils.
