Oh dear! A friend of mine bought one of them new many years ago - he sold it after a few years when the memory seat system failed and literally tried to crush him whilst he was driving at 100kph on the open road - took it into the dealer and they said "Yeah, we've seen this quite a bit" Weirdly he recently bought the V6 model, so guess he didn't learn his lesson about VW s**tness.

Love both you April and Tyler! You guys are everything that car people are! 😂 I'm in Ireland so because of our Vechile Registration Tax, a super car is rare so we enjoy them when they drive by! Porsche are pretty common though! I always thought the fact that the Lambos essentially use an Audi engine, the R8 took over here, plus you can get the same engine in the RS6 Avant and that is what a lot of people chose to go for. Ferrari still pretty special and a lot of them here!

This video has changed my opinion about Hennessey. I grew up when the Viper was 1st introduced and when my jaw dropped seeing the very first Hennessey tuned Viper on the cover of Motor Trend magazine, then, years following the Viper craze and the stories about the lawsuits against Hennessey !! Yes, even today, I still have a bad taste in my mouth about Hennessey. What I don't understand is why he publicly never made a statement or an apology ?? If he goes on record with what actually happened and explained why he took people's money and gave back stock Vipers with just stickers or such ?? I would really like to know the real story !! If it did happen, then a public apology- that would truly gain my trust and appreciation of his current work... just sayin

The shoulder drop of the vintage car value is yet to come. Young people have little if any interest in vintage things. Why would anyone want to be seen or use a Blackberry or Apple Macintosh? Same with transportation. Everything modern is better and cheaper. It's like discussing the value of purchasing old plow horses.

We have a newer generation of wealth and I don't think manuals are on their list. They want the numbers, not the experience. Edit: I don't mean to over-generalize here, but most have prolly never driven a manual. Most of this 35-45 yr old range... not most people in general.

I don't know about that. The manuals still outperformed. I'm at the bottom of that time frame and everybody I know wants the manual version. Only slight exaggeration. You used to get something special with an F1 or DCT or PDK which was a pretty dramatic extra dose of speed. Now $50k EVs are demolishing $500k cars from 10 years ago. People are only just starting to come to that realization, and when you don't care whether your fun car runs 11.9 or 12.9 ¼mile times that opens up possibilities. Hence the 6-speed 456 appreciating the fastest. You could be right about even younger people who never cared or were exposed to that experience - but how many 25 year olds buying 6-figure cars are there? Not enough to affect the exotic/collector car market - yet. I think it's pretty simple and not really a manual transmission thing (although the hype train probably went overboard). Cars got too expensive and money was cheap. There aren't enough people to support USED $200-$500k collector cars. When they're 5 years old dealers readily have them and the buyer is the same as the new car buyer just less spendy. The 10-25 year old exotic car buyer is different and I don't think there's that many of them willing to spend multi 6-figs as money got tighter. Plenty of them/us exist, but your average successful 35-45 year old has kids/house etc. and just isn't ready to spend that kind of money on extra cars when buying fun dailies like a M3 is an ~$85k proposition. ~10-20 years from now - completely different story: I think basically any 10+ year old car that's actually interesting/rare-ish under $100k-$150k won't go much lower, especially manuals. But the people heavily reliant on financing/hype who ran up prices on $250k-$700k cars over the past few years are less prominent and those will mostly depreciate like they used to or worse.

I am Gen X with a Porsche collection. I honestly do not enjoy manual cars. Problem is the older versions of auto gearboxes like 996 and 928 models were truly terrible. From 997 upwards they became fantastic. Also from an appreciation standpoint pretty much any 911 Turbo will appreciate in value above its competitors.
