I don't because no matter what breed the dog is or no matter how calm the dog is, it's a massive risk that you shouldn't take as a responsible adult I should hold off on getting any sort of bigger dog until the kid is at least like 6 or 7 and even then that's still a bit young but after minimum you'll know your kid will at least possibly have the chance to have the ability to be calm enough to drastically lower the risk of the dog accidentally hurting the kid.

I had a cat that was never around infants before. when my niece touched his ear, he was calm. When she could talk she would call him over to sleep with her when it was naptime and he did. The only other person he would sleep in bed with was me.

My Theo was the same when I had my little boy. He used to watch his every move and check on him throughout the night. He did that until he went over the rainbow bridge last year at 14. Bullies are the best nanny dogs

My fur nephew was the same way once my sister surprisingly got pregnant with my nephew and he was protective of her and her belly even though my bro in law got him to be my niece's dog so now he has two human siblings that love him to pieces 😊.
