Bad data. There is only one reason we pay $50 a kilo for fillets - although only the wealthy would pay this and it would be the very top price for the freshest and most expensive species i.e. snapper in Akld. Frozen export fish may sell for $3 per kg but most NZers will not eat that $3 fish, certainly not when it has been frozen. The QMS aint perfect and yes it would do with some adjustments, but it's the best and most copied fisheries management system on the globe.
