My wife brought home a puppy 2 weeks ago. Details were vague but we now know he is a Lhasa-Choodelug. He is now 12 weeks old, and I took him for first round of shots on the weekend. His name is Rambeau, he has gained 1.5 pounds since we got him. This brings him to an intimidating 7 pounds. My Gwen is an American Bull X Old English who clocks in at a dainty and lady like 74 pounds, and she didnt stop grinning and "love you" bowing for 3 days after he came in the door. They are gonna break furniture or maybe a door, but I dont care. I will pay for it. It was too quiet around here anyway.

My goodness, what a handsome man! Love me a good tri-color pit bull, they are just so beautiful, and with this poor guy, once he was healthy and healed, it's so nice to see him enjoying life. You could definitely tell in the beginning that he was just completely shut down. But after his surgery, he turned into such an angel, I love him.

People can be very judgemental from get go just by looking at these dogs the stigma surrounding these babies kicks in to ppl's heads and so they imagine those things come from these babies. So, I was working in our backyard, around our pond when I looked up and saw a large dog approaching. I wasn't going to make it to the door before he got to me, so I kept on weeding and playing in the dirt. ;) He walked up to me, eye level bc I was on my knees, I said "hi buddy!" And tried to keep working. He laid down next to me, not a bark, just sat beside me. It was pretty hot, I figured if I was thirsty, he probably is too. So I told him I was going to get a drink and we walked to the door. He sat outside the door and waited for me. I brought out a bowl of water and sat it around him and sat for a minute on a chair beside him. He did drink up a bit, but I would HV thought he needed more. We sat under the fan for a good 10 minutes and I got up to go back out to weed, he followed me. I tried to get him to stay where it was cool, bit he refused. He was following me. So we went over and I worked in an area that was shaded, so he wasn't out in the sun. I have asthma and allergic to everything except ash trees (my Dr told me), as I worked, I wondered where this guy came from. We don't have strays in the last 20 yrs at our residence. I put a post of fb to see if anyone was missing a dog. I was deadset on a dog due to the health issues, but in the couple of hrs that this dog sat with me, I decided if my husband agreed and this dog I called "Buddy" was homeless, I wanted to adopt him. After a few more hrs, I decided to call a friend that had dogs to ask what I'd need for him. He looked to be a cross between a boxer and something else. My friend came over to see buddy and when she came into view, he started growling and barking. After he was assured she wasn't a threat, he sat back down beside me. During that time I also got a call from someone on fb that said they know this dog. I called her and she confirmed it was that dog. My friend decided to take Buddy for a bit. I was really hoping she was wrong. How could he be that protective having only being around me for a short time? The gal on the phone proceeded to tell me the dog is abused. She said she tried to buy him from his owner, the relative of a neighbor of ours, but the guy refused. She said he was almost blind and deaf, was abused since a pup. The guy got him back and within a few mos, buddy had passed. It was a very short, long afternoon that day...I hope I showed him something good that day, allowed him to feel safe. I wish we had him longer...while it was sad that he had passed, at least that owner ould not hurt him any more.
