Yo Dennis scored an S Code ragtop ! I drove a 67 S Code coupe when I was a junior in high school. My friend Ray bought it off the lot on my hometown. I saw him at the diner and he was a proud owner of a lime green 4 speed car. He popped the hood and that FE was stuffed in there. You couldn’t see the spark plugs … man alive was that car fast and powerful ! Amazing actually. Ray said he’d been drafted which meant he was headed for ‘the Nam’ and was giving it back to the dealer. That was the last time I saw Ray and the last time he saw his hometown … RIP Ray.

Dennis is the man! My first car in 1974 was a 1967 Mustang convertible, 289, automatic, power steering, power top. Red with white top and white interior. Only drove it for a few months after fixing it up and some guy had to have it and shot me big $$ so I sold it and purchased a 1972 Datsun 240 Z with 2,000 miles. The good old days and I was only 16.
@deeremeyer17492 жыл бұрын
Couldn't stand the vapor locking and overheating, could you? What was "big $$" for a 7-8 year old multiple-owner ragtop stain-magnet white top/interior lo-po 289 slushbox C4 '67 Mustang after "fixing up" by a 16 year old import "enthusiast" in '74-'75? The parts and labor bills for the "fix up" plus what you paid for it? Or rather what mom and dad paid for it?
@yomama94622 жыл бұрын
@@deeremeyer1749 Totally my money I worked and saved for it. I do not remember the costs back then although I remember I paid $4,200 for the Z. My family restored antique cars and I had helped since grade school. I was capable with some help to get the Mustang back to a very presentable condition. The car was just neglected and needed a new top ran great. Of course it had rust and one reason I let it go.

Hey Dennis. Hello from Australia. I was born in 1958. My father was in the Australian navy from WWII to Viet Nam. Almost the end of the Korean conflict, He purchased a '38 Oldsmobile sedan from three American servicemen set to return state side and did not want to take the car back. He paid 5 pound's. In today's money. $15.00. I have no idea if that car still exists because, during the time of Viet Nam a lot of American service personnel landed here for staging. The car was sold to a few marine's and that was the last I ever saw of it. So some of the Naval officers billeted in my suburb. They had the most awesome muscle car collection amongst them, Camaro's, Pontiacs, Chev's and Mopar and, the list goes on. The gem in my eye was a '67 fast back, metalic blue, white interior. Being the son of the CPO of dock yard, the nice American servicemen would take me for a spirited drive around the suburb...Sigh.

I have a suggestion. I didn't see it so much in this episode, but a lot of times when the crew goes and eats after a buy and load, Dennis likes to order one of everything on the menu, and I love it; it gives the chance for a small business restaurant to show off their food, but I sometimes worry that the leftovers are going to waste since it is more than they could possibly eat (especially considering they are often far from home making a to-go box impractical). I think they should maybe see if the restaurant would just bring a small table sample of each dish to the table and Dennis could maybe just pay for the food as if they were bringing full-size meals. That way the restaurants could show off their fare and make some extra cash, Dennis and company could have the pleasure of tasting everything, and there would be no wasted food. Anyway, just a thought. Cheers! I love the videos; keep them coming!

Dennis another outstanding find. A neighbor lady down the street has a 67 Mustang Coupe that she got new from her parents as a graduation present and hers is blue as well but a bit different shade. It quit running in the mid 90's she says. Sadly it's a 6 cylinder automatic car but it is so solid and decent that I think about buying it from her. However I have never wasted any time on a 6 cylinder car before other than maybe as a daily driver. When we talk she is always sad about it not running but her husband doesn't want to put any money into it so it has just sat in the garage. Maybe one day I'll overcome the 6 cylinder aversion and make her an offer.
