Rescued a AMC Pacer X - Will it Run? [Just Make it Run January]

We saved this Pacer X from being a advertisement sign for a upholstery business, will we get it to run again? We brought this to the shop in May 2023 and let it sit for a few months. After some time sitting, we decided it would be perfect for our "Just Make it Run January" series.

Dear Brittany and Daniel, When the AMC Pacer was introduced WIlleke immediately felt in love with this car but she always had another taste the regular people 😀. To give you an idea she also did love the original Morris Mini, the Opel Adam, the Citroēn 2CV, the original Fiat 500 but also the latest model. The advantage of the Pacer was that she was a reliable produced USA car but the disadvantage for Europeans was that the car relatively was very wide and not very economically in petrol consumption Also due to the for Europeans strange design this car had very bad selling figures. Those are all very interesting cars! We found a vintage Pacer ad comparing how wide it was to a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.

I hope you are feeling better after your operation and praying you are free from any further issues with cancer ,my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a difficult journey of treatment and surgery's. I love the AMC pacer I would love it in the UK

It's ok if your wires are a mix of ford and Chevy. Cause AMC is a mixture of ford chevy and Mopar.

It's too rusty to save if you value your money. But I can use the windshield. Good luck.

The windshield in this one is cracked unfortunately. We are going to get it back road worthy again and fix the major rust.

I remember when that car was new went with my dad I was a kid the salesman at dealership said the passenger side door is longer than the driver side I said that's stupid why not make both doors the same needless to say dad didn't buy one cool video you guys are awesome throw a 454 in it

At 20:53 doesn’t ignition/key need to be switched on to unlock steering?

The switch was on but the steering rack was seized. Months later after soaking in penetrating oil it finally freed up.

There was a lot of footage of repeating this process and putting gas in the carbs, we just didn't include a lot of it because it was overly boring.

Danny from DD speed shop on KZbin has always been looking for one of these. So contact her? Also you need more tools smoke machine eBay $100 fo vacuumed leaks timing light or vacuumed gauge to set timing.

That's interesting, we are wanting to get this one back on the road but if we come across any more we will keep that in mind. We recently got a smoke machine and have a timing light; we will get it better set once we actually start driving it around. We just wanted to hear it run briefly and verify the engine was good so we could make a gameplan.
