I do wonder if all older and newer Adaptahorns essentially use the same diaphragm but the difference in grill or projector design change the tone as voltage definitely does
@lackedpuppet90224 ай бұрын
I would imagine it was more obvious in situ, but hearing them all in succession I'm left wondering if so many different things all being indicated by similar horns like this ever caused confusion. I have to imagine they at least had them blast for different durations based on their purpose. _"Oh boy, it's finally lunch!"_ _"Nope, sorry, it's only __9:30__, they just opened the electrical room..."_

@trevorhaddox68844 ай бұрын
Hearing the 5410 go off brought me back to high school, an old 70s building outfitted with 4050s. Hearing tens of those things going off all at once and constant tone was quite aweful to us teenagers.

The fact some of these sounds are ones I deeply remember growing up means that many schools and buildings must have used a few of these or something very similar.

@classicelectrics9536 Same here for the most part. I have a little luthier experience under my belt, so guitars make up a big majority of the thrift and antique hauls.

@classicelectrics9536 Thrift stores are extremely hit or miss, at least in my experience. Antique shops are certainly the way to go. My local shop is always stocked with odd and vintage instruments from the city’s musical background.

Where you able to salvage any of the fire alarm system components? These look like just general alarm
@VintageVibratone Жыл бұрын
The place was so massive there wasn’t really a central fire alarm system outside of a collection of bells, horns, and industrial sirens. I did save a number of 7002Ts and one fire bell from a newer system in an office space around the mill, however

Any advice on getting alarms from abandoned, pre-demo, or pre-re-system-ed buildings? I can never get in touch in time or even know that its happening
@turbinatearc74784 ай бұрын
Do NOT attempt to enter or take any items from any abandoned building without express consent of the property owner. This is illegal, immoral and dangerous. You can either get hurt, or worse get arrested and get off with a criminal record. Vintage Vibratone takes no responsibility for your actions; his lawyer told him to put a disclaimer at the start of this video.
@VintageVibratone4 ай бұрын
I work with preservation groups and museums on the side, although it can be difficult otherwise. Best bet would be to look into public property records and reach out via email. I know a few individuals who have successfully recovered a few signals that way specifically during pre-demoes with construction crews.
