What an awesome find. I hope you make a video of test & restoration of this too. 👍

I have my grandfather’s F2 which he used as his press camera from the mid-1970s to the early-1980s. It’s heavily brassed, probably seen tens of thousands of rolls of film, until he put it away and moved onto his F3. A while ago it came into my possession and still works (almost) perfectly after nearly 40 years of storage. Just the foam seals unsurprisingly need replacement, and the 1/2000 speed seems to be not opening the shutter properly. Otherwise, still smooth and solid. Such a legendary camera.

Wonderful find, fabulous camera! Hope you make an update after it’s been gone through. Love my Nikon film cameras, FM, F2, FM3A.

Great story! I enjoy learning about cameras, but I think I enjoy your various stories about them more. It must be fate for you go have an F2 titan! I'd enjoy seeing an update on it after its servicing and cleaning. These storied cameras are fascinating.

Finding one of those in the bottom of a box on the street is the kind of lucky thing you never forget haha, I'm glad for you! I'm also very, *very* glad you saved that camera from that fate. Just imagining the sheer amount of legitimately awesome cameras that must have ended in the trash makes me sad

I loooove that 50mm F2 on my D700! I have that exact one. Love the feeling of the knurled focus ring. It has a really special rendering. It's also very satisfying turning the smooth focus ring. Idk there's just something special about the single blue coating, the yellow markings, and the black body with the silver nose... it's 🤌🏻

I have a Nikon FM2 that has a damaged shutter but it still works! The metal shutter is mangled but it still operates! Amazing. It's just a parts camera.

Some people have all the luck.. I would have it checked and serviced but not cosmetically restored. That way you have a working F2 that shows its age...

Internals are same as stock f2, prism, top cover and baseplate are titanium .

Nice find for sure. About 4 years ago I saw my retired barber, in our conversation I found out he had been a photographer. He had Nikon cameras and some glass locked in his gun safe for over 35 years. Of course I asked if he wanted to sale, but got a I’ll think about it. He called the day. He had 7 lenses, that included the famous Nikkor 105mm f2.5, three Nikkor 50mm, and some other non-Nikkor glass. He had three Nikon bodies, two FM’s, and a perfect looking Nikon F2 that was one of the 25 th anniversary edition marketing scheme out of a New York shop. I understand the only difference is a label and a special serial number on the bottom. I wanted the glass, not shooting film anymore. I got everything for $500. I was happy, he was happy. I need to find a home for bodies, I probably will never use them. The glass is in perfect shape, AI and AIS Nikkor. I like the older Nikkor glass including the D series. There are many cameras and lenses setting, if we could only find them.

Hi. I was wondering how often your online store inventory gets updated. Looking to see when you might have some more medium format/TLR in stock. 😊

I have an absolute mint F2. But the meter in the finder is not accurate. I want the non meter eye level finder. Because it looks so much better. But to get one in the same like new condition is outrages costly.

I have a Pentax SL The camera works perfectly it cost me eighty pounds to buy . The dealer how ever he replaced the decrepit seals But I have discovered the cloth shutter has holes in because the pictures show spotty light leaks It can be replaced of course ... But a job like that will cost another hundred pounds at least.

Sadly the "Titan" logo is gone which obviously diminishes it's collectibility value.... but anyway I like the worn out look. And that for 400 yen? Definitely very lucky,
@Jsoberon3 ай бұрын
Not all F2/Ts have the "Titan" marking. Based on the way the paint is worn, we would still see the "titan" writing if it were their originally. Same to assume this is one of the versions without it.

These Nikon's are really crap when you see the coke? It's sad it's poor quality, very poorly made? Only that on the outside it's rotten but on the inside it's average overall except the rubbers it's really poor, rotten after 25 years compared to other brands of cameras that are better than these Nikon's! My passion was the Nikon F3 and the Nikon Photomatic 2 and the Nikon F90X are the best ranked in all quality points of view! Very disappointed for his collection in relation to its quality? especially in Titanium it's already pitiful it's ZERO in hardness work?
