My first vehicle was a 1967 Pontiac Tempest. I paid $25 for it, it didn't have an engine or tranny in it. Then a couple days later I bought a Chevy 230 6 cyl with a powerglide trans. I put it in and got all new fluids installed and was broke, car didn't have a driver's seat so I found a bean bag chair and duct taped the holes and used it for driver's seat for nearly a year. Be Blessed.

Around 1980 or 81, my brother bought a '69 Tempest that had a little bit souped-up engine (I think it was a 389 with mild cam and headers/four barrel). He paid a girl $175 for it. When he bought it, he asked the girl "Why was she selling it for only $175 " ?? Her answer, "Well, I never had $175 before" ! He drove it from Illinois to California and the only issue was - every time he went to start it - he had to crawl under and jiggle the shims on the starter.

I'd love to see you try to get this one running. The 64 Pontiac is one of my favorites and I love a 4 door even. Even if this thing is so far gone to barely be a parts car, it would be cool if it could run one more time before the few good parts get sold and the rest gets scrapped.

Oh how these videos brings back so many great memories. I loved to do this with every ounce of passion in my body. From piles of rusty medal to a beautiful vehicle that ran down the road drawing stares, smiles and even applause from crowds of onlookers. The mind still has the want to, but the body let's me know very quickly it can't happen again. However nothing can take away the memories of those beautiful cars we produced still running today, even though most are sitting in some one s garage only to be taken out on very special occasions. Oh how I loves those days, and thank you for sharing these videos with us.

Good day to you and all the viewers! I’m always interested in watching all the recovery projects your family puts out on KZbin! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I had a thought about when those vehicles are far down in the dirt, like this Pontiac. Why don’t you just shovel dirt down into the holes after the vehicle is jacked up? The boards are an ok idea but they have a good chance of breaking or sagging once the jack is released. I’m already looking for the will it start on this old car. Have a great weekend to all.

There should be a lot of good little trim parts you could sell to help recoup your cost. That front nose cut across the front of the hood and fenders might make a really cool wall hanger. Other than that, I’d haul the rest to the recycler. To bad, I love those old Pontiac’s.
