@Nathan D Part of conservation is hunting and fishing. Without hunting and fishing the wildlife would overpopulate and many animals would starve. Overfishing and overhunting is the problen and that's why there are strict regulations with commercial fishing and hunting. Many people are now switching to farming fish so they aren't bound to a legal limit.

When I was a kid,my father saw a fisherman selling a turtle he caught,my father bought the turtle and took the turtle to a sea nearby to release the turtle. Then he made a commitment to himself to never eat turtle meat,and that inspired me so much,I'm so proud of him to this day. Every time I see turtles,I always remember him and keep telling this story to everyone 😊

If that is true your dad was a amazing man i grew up being dought to respect anamals and love them being farmers we realy love mother nature most respect for envirment i personaly like anamals more then people .we even had hard time doing what we hade to do with pest species thay were bad for the farm if they dident bother to much and werent to out of control wed let wild anamals take a chicken or eat some vegatables .

No she was out of breath. It would have been much nicer if they released her in the water (which is normally what most organisations do) but I guess they wanted to make a nice video so made her move on land. So everyone could cheer, as if the turtle appreciates all the noise...

@@mvgikk1969 why would a turtle need to "get used" to it. She will only come ashore once every few years to lay eggs and this process is instinctive. She knows what to do. They just did it because it looked better but the turtle is better off being directly placed in the water. Which most organisations do

I have released turtles too. I was wondering do you guys release them on the beach like this video? We always release them gently in the water. Seems much nicer for the turtle. This was pretty stressfull. We also keep quiet instead of clapping.

@@marthaz1183 there was a show on TV I used to watch called Sea Rescue which ended in 2018. I don't know why because it was great. Did you ever see it? Had stories on these types of rescues. A lot of sea life were released near where I live in Florida. Anyway, we need to see more of this and these things in my opinion.

I went to Ecuador to do a volunteer program with a marine biology agency backed by the Ecuador government and had an amazing experience doing tons of stuff like releasing an entire nest of hatching baby turtles and capture/ rescue of turtles with fish hooks in their mouth or nets entangling them and mother turtles laying eggs at night on the beach we were monitoring. So, seeing this video with this rescue turtle was especially moving for me given the personal experience that I lived. So happy to see munchkin healthy and released to the sea.
