@@RainOCE14 Typically when a human being experiences empathy for another creature's emotion or situation, their brain releases the same chemicals the other creature's emotion would create had they felt it themselves, and results in a similar emotional chemical effect. Typically the emotion of sadness, fear, pain or even anger results in constricted breathing and sinus sensitivity that can turn into crying. So for a human being with empathy, seeing an animal sad or in pain can naturally result in feeling sadness or pain and crying about it. It should at the very least, evoke feelings of one's heart sinking, nausea, or a "lump in the throat", or some kind of felt reaction. If not, you probably aren't familiar with empathy at all, and tbh that's dangerous psychologically speaking and you should probably seek therapy for your dissasociation.

You may think it cruel, but in it's day, it was the *_beginning_* of animal conservation. There wasn't T.V. Documentaries back in the day, there were circus'. A circus was the only place MOST people ever got to experience animals like "Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, Oh My!!" In the 1800's when the circus was most popular, people didn't even KNOW these wonderful animals existed. Many were killed for various reasons MORE cruel than training them for the circus. As more people were exposed to them more people became active in trying to protect them. As you see today, the circus is non-existent *BECAUSE* people started to get involved in helping these animals they at one time didn't even know about. It's *_VERY SAD_* that some animals had to suffer through this, but what they endured helped their species survive.

@mikeh84164 жыл бұрын
@@timothyhouse1622 By *today's* standard you would be 100% right. However during the 1800's *MOST* people had never seen most of these animals, let alone *heard* of them. During those times people saw, and experienced how wonderful these animals are, and as time went by CONSERVATION GROUPS WERE FORMED. There was *NO* animal conservation groups before this time period.. WHY? Because people didn't KNOW about these animals. Only THEN did people start being concerned with their welfare, and a CIRCUS was great exposure because their treatment in them was *quite often* criticized. I'm not "painting the circus" in a positive light, I'm simply stating that if they'd have never become popular, we wouldn't have the conservation systems we do today. Stop taking everything in a "black and white" point of view. Sometimes bad things happen to MAKE GOOD THINGS happen, because if we never see the bad, we never CREATE the good.

I can remember going to a circus with my gradeschool class and being horrified at the way the animals were treated. To see a brown bear in a pink tutu "dacing" with a man flicking a whip at him really struck a nerve with me. I can remember my mom asking how it was and I told her I hated it, I would never go to another one.
@aboveitall16533 жыл бұрын
The bears are made to "dance" by forcing them to stand on a hot metal plate in a small 1 meter by 1 meter cage. The bears keep moving from foot to foot to try to ease the pain. It is done so frequently to the bear cubs it becomes a learned trait, while the human with the whip re-inforces it using the whip as a power / violence technique. This is how circuses try to "entertain" human children and successfully "fool" their human parents into beleving circuses are "wholesome and amusing" family entertainment for which humans will pay money.

I agree, and it's really no room for it left in the world knowing what we know now. That said not all circuses treated their animals this bad. My mom and dad met while working for one (he put up tents she's did tickets) Don't get me wrong it's still not a way to keep a wild animal but they did try to maintain the animals, they where more treated as pets more than employees.. I still remember they took me backstage to meet Sarah the elephant when I was 3 - 4, she was so gentle, sniffing me, using her trunk to suck my cheeks (felt like a vacuum). They rescued orphan animals they found on the round like foxes.. So all that to say that even though it was still bad compared to today's standards these people did try to do right by the animals and not all circus workers where evil animal haters

@Sinew Minew: I absolutely agree with you that the cruelties humans are capable of is incredible. But I don't agree with you that such people should be treated and suffer in the same way *for all eternity,* because i.m.o. this is just as resp. even far more cruel and because unfortunately some people have no or only a very limited awareness of their cruelty and e.g. Romania, where this bear was kept so cruelly, is still a very poor country, where many people fight for survival every day using such methods, because they can't afford better methods. Apart from that, the poem "Thoughtless Cruelty" by Charles Lamb, which you read in one of your videos, should, i.m.o., be compulsory reading in every school because it conveys respect for nature, other living beings and, last but not least, our fellow human beings very well. But the fact that many things in life are not that easy is also proven by the fact that probably each of us has already killed some mosquitos or annoying flies etc. (Btw, flies can also bite us very painfully! I know this because a fly bit me through my sock once before. 😮)

Pure evil to make animals perform like that. And the "training" is actually nothing more than torture. Poor guy. You can tell how sweet he is, that's probably why he was a "good" performer. He never fought back hard enough. When huge powerful animals like that still respect the humans that torture and starve them, all the while KNOWING they could kill them if they wanted to, that says so much more about the spirit of animals than it does for the spirit of humans. I'm so happy he found people to love and care for him. I think that animals are better at living in the moment and being present than we are, and thank goodness for that. He's in the mountains, in fresh air, under the stars, in the snow, with some new friends. Many blessing for those that fought to give him, and others like him, such a life. I pray that in my lifetime, stories of animals being treated so horrifically are rare. Now that we all have the ability to film and access to share stories like this with the world, I think it's possible. The newer generations care much more about the lives of animals than those who went before us. Maybe that's because we have more access to see it. Maybe that's because we were raised with Steve Irwin telling us that every creature is a beauty. Maybe it's because that's part of the mission of many of us now. Whatever the reason, I'm glad for it. I'm glad to be living at this time and to have the ability to witness it.
