It's so sad to see this king of animals dragging his feet, almost can not stand. He probably had a very long journey in a cage and he might has a post trauma due to the war. I hope he recovers and get well soon

Rori looks very dazed and unsteady on his feet, hopefully he will recover soon as the king he really is. It was nice that he came near the fence where Cam was sitting. His mane is very impressive, extending way along his belly. 🦁

@user-tu5dm7yk6d I understand what you are saying but Africa is NO paradise for lions at the moment. Between human overpopulation pushing lions out of their natural habitat, retaliatory killing of lions by villagers for the lions taking their cattle, "free for all" so called "game reserves" that allow trophy hunting and canned hunting, this life that Rori is now getting, is better than the life of a wild lion, with not having to contend with getting caught in brutal snares, used in abhorrent trophy hunts, shot and killed by villagers, slowly dying of starvation through lack of prey animals and habitat etc every day like a wild lion has to now.

​@@user-tu5dm7yk6dI know you have commented with best intentions, but with his history of always being confined in small spaces, and only having human contact, it would be very cruel to send poor Rori to Africa. In fact, he will have a spacious home with plenty of enrichment, and be cared for by people with the experience to assess his health and to rehabilitate him. He will likely be housed with other lions in due course, whilst also having familiar, but better, care by humans. He will have more freedom than he could have dreamed of, but with the security provided by the Sanctuary..

@@user-tu5dm7yk6d Animals who have gone through such trauma -- such as Yuna -- can never be set free in Africa. Their physical condition is poor, they would not be able to hunt, they may be seen as a threat to other lions who have established territories & be killed. He would be out in the middle of nowhere on his own unable to fully defend & care for himself. Life in the jungle is extremely harsh. Lion society is extremely convoluted & violent. It is not a Disney movie with a happy ending.

BCS is still trying to raise more funds for the building of all the new lion habitats and are keen to provide the back story. I understand the format is not for you, and that it could have been done differently, but I don't think there were bad intentions, just that they can't please everyone.
