Govt is trying to claim zero toxins were detected but unlike past lithium fires, this time it's near a preserve that regularly tests so it will be harder to hide this.

Li-Ion batteries are hazardous and should not be used at scale until safer chemistry batteries or storage technologies are developed. What's the use of introducing this "clean tech" if it turns out to hazardous in ways that offset - or even outweigh - any of its possible benefits? This is futility. Back to the drawing board, folks.

There is currently no known way to put out a lithium ion fire, adding water just creates even more toxic gases and the fire will continue to burn even if totally submerged.
