Confession: in the early 2010s, I had a hold of a Gameboy color and an (authentic) copy of pokemon Silver Version. Neither of them worked, i didnt use ebay at the time, no-one was around to properly fix them, so I just threw them in the trash. I have now devoted myself to selling old broken games and electronics on ebay so people like him can fix them and find them a better home.

I don't see how you could've cleaned that crusted over laser assembly. And even if you did, the tools you used would've scratched the laser lens and stretched the assembly to make it inoperable. In other words, perhaps you replaced the laser assembly with a different one, and lightly cleaned the new one to trick us. The elbow grease needed to get all that crud off with that brush would've damaged/scratched the lens and its assembly past the repair point.

This is an ASMR video so I guess people like the sound of it more so than the technical aspect. As far as being "broken", that I highly doubt if you used the parts as is. When I think something it broken , it means it doesn't work at all. If you didn't replace anything , it wasn't broken, just dirty. I have fixed broken systems before that needed new fans, processors, drives, chips, etc. i said to myself " This person is doing all that cleaning, scrubbing, and scraping, but it doesn't matter if the laser is burned out or the processor was fried. However cool video to watch anyway.
