I didn't intend to reset when everyone on Reddit was shouting "don't reset!" I was pretty confident I wouldn't. Then I realized I hate my town's layout and if I didn't reset I wasn't going to play the game the entire month before release. At all. Sorting out my old town was exhausting. So I made a new character, moved all my stuff into their storage after upgrading their house all the way, then moved them to a family member's Switch island, deleted my old one and moved back. I'm going to miss Lilycove, but you can't move your resident services center or airport or the beach-river openings, so... it had to be done. My new island feels completely fresh and I'm just about ready for the update. Although now that it's coming up, due to money issues I'm not sure if I can get the HHP DLC the week it comes out... At least there's other stuff to do in the update. Hopefully that will keep me occupied in the meantime.

I'm not getting the paid dlc right away. I'm gonna play acnh with the new update until I get bored, THEN get it. Juggling two new things at once and getting bored with them at the same time seems like a bad choice. And the paid dlc might go on sale later so it's worth the wait!

Pelican Bay will be missed but its great its all on video! You can probably go visit the dream address as well. I recently restarted my island as well. I was really burnt out and hadn't played for a hot minute. I just really didn't like the layout and everything was a mess. Then I saw the update and WOW! I flattened my island back in May-June because I was sure E3 was going to feature the 2.0 update (whelp😶‍🌫...), it's stayed the same since then because I held out on doing anything to my island just in case the 2.0 update was coming soon. I believe thats the same island as mine! Before I changed the layout ofc. Woah it brought back memories! The location of the ponds, 2 top rivers. Apple trees. YES THATS THE SAME STARTING LAYOUT. My house still on the top hills without river. Although the area got smaller because it was too big for my house.

I love how you name is storybrook because it reminds me of a series called “Once Upon a Time” which is a series about like twists on classic Disney fairy tales and it was the first TV show I had gotten to bond with my mom over 🥰 the second one was “Supernatural”

I'd argue the orange airport is perfect for Farmcore.. it's close to red like a red barn, and farms are usually decorated rustic and fairly autumn-esk.. (which is funny because autumn is when things start to wither lol) but still, I think orange is the perfect color for Farmcore, despite your dislike for it.. If I were you, I'd fully embrace it. :p
