I love starting on fresh islands. I must be the only one that rolls with what the game gives me though. I don't reroll a hundred times or have favorite villagers or not favorite villagers or anything like that.

I think over the years, as someone who’s played since the very first ac, you sincerely develop bonds with the villigars, and in some instances, some become your genuine favorites. That’s the beauty of this franchise and why it’s the second most successful game for switch. It’s just something about animal crossing that’s screams childhood, nostalgia, and beauty ❤️❤️❤️🙌🏽

I just started my forever island. I'm almost finished with it! I've had it for 6 months and my goal is to have complete museum, every villager home decorated, beaches fully decorated, and I want to participate in every villagers birthday at least once and celebrate every holiday, etc. It's helped me gain my love back for the game. I kept it the whole 2023, i just restarted on January 1 of 2024 and currently am working on finishing my mood board, i got 3 of my dreamies already.

I’ve played over 300 hours of this game and never restarted my island. I never knew there were so many different island layouts!?! I thought there were just the 4 they show you when you start the game. 😱

Katt is the best sisterly… I took her once just to get a sisterly for the reactions and planned to dump her quickly but fell in love! I rolled a forever island on my switch #1 and was so happy to invite her ❤ she’s so sweet and plays the drums in her house to her music and looks so pleased doing it

AND I got some nmt from a TI and found one of my favorite villagers from my first ever island (Tutu the bear, love her so much), it was a sign so she came home with me too... but then BAROLD autofilled in my last plot. TLDR good luck does run out eventually

restarted my island about two weeks ago bc i haven't played in a long while and this is my first long-term island and so far the acnh gods have been smiling down on me I got a blue airport, while the resident services are sadly close to it, i dont really care about that, the rivers are nice (one of the rivers even ends in a heart shape). Even the mandatory villagers I'm getting have been amazing!! My starter villagers were Cherry and Snake, both villagers I LOVE. The three villagers I got was Felicity, who I actually convinced to come to my island on my first nook island, Pekoe, who I also met, on my second nook island (tho by that time she was already predestined to move in), and Rodeo. Then the campsite villager is Quillson, who I know a lot of people dont like but I find this smug lil duck so cute

I always time travel when I start a new island but only to speed up constructions and that’s it as I like to play for a long time in one sitting and I can only do so much fishing and catching bugs until I get bored lol

Could I ask for advice? (Sorry if it’s long, it doesn’t take much time to read) I’m a pretty amateur animal crossing player. I’ve had the game for quite a while, and I’ve never restarted. I’ve always stayed with my first ever island. But I haven’t really played in months, just visited it from time to time. Probably because I screwed it up. My island is ugly and full of junk, and it’s full with pretty mid villagers. I only really like 1. I’ve gone way too far to redo it (as in it’ll literally take me a year to flatten) but I don’t want to keep it this way. I was way too obsessed with villager hunting at the start of the game so I barely had any nook mikes tickets to actually work with, so it’d just autofill into random villagers. I also didn’t buy any decorations because I spent the little money I had on tickets. But, my house is really pretty and the game is full of really good memories. I feel like I’d miss it and regret it if I restarted it, but if I didn’t I don’t think I’d really play game anymore. I have a really cute idea for the island and I think it’d be great to start from scratch, but I’m definitely not getting another 300$ switch +another game just so I can have 2 islands. I feel like restarting your first island for me would be like if you got your first pet, and when it got old and ugly you just threw it away and replaced it with something younger. It’s definitely an exaggeration, but even understanding that I don’t know if I’d be able to shake off the guilt. I don’t understand why you can only have 1 island per switch. Do you think I should restart? I keep going back and forth, and I think it’s be good to get advice from a chronic restarter.

If you restart your island, your hhp progress will be gone, however you will still have the dlc:)
