Video was a life saver. Son's light came on. He put air in the tires but light remained on. I knew there had to be a reset. Went to your video and Eureka, he is back on the road again. Many thanks.

After doing this, the problem came back on my next two trips, even though the tyres were definitely full. However, each time I cancelled the light again (after checking the tyres), and finally the problem didn't recur. I mention this as others may have found the same...it seems it can sometimes take a few cycles to persuade the car the tyres are really ok.

You don't have to set it to the door pressure (and in many cases shouldn't). 36 is a starting point, but you should set your tire pressures so that the tires wear evenly. That will vary depending on your driving style, front or back location, front or rear drive, and the tires you put on the vehicle. Often the door is too low and will wear out the tires prematurely. The sweat spot is somewhere between the door and the top pressure recommended on the tire itself. I often run 40+ and have run as high as 50. Never run more than the TIRE recommends! If the outsides are wearing, put in more pressure. If the center is wearing, let air out. Watch how they wear and adjust accordingly. A front wheel drive car is hard on tires. A little extra PSI, especially on the front, is often useful in keeping the tires wearing evenly. Lastly, uneven wear isn't always tire pressures. It can also be suspension issues. Peace. .

What if you reset it and tire pressure is fine and it keeps popping up ? That’s the issue I’m having
@thekevincornell3 жыл бұрын
Are you checking the tire pressures to see if one of the tires is actually low? Not sure exactly why it would do that? Does it do it instantly? Maybe a faulty sensor.

Does anyone know the purpose of the button?
@hectorheck1353 Жыл бұрын
After 2014 to ?, Mazda uses the ABS system to monitor the air in the tires (thankfully because those in-rim sensors are pricey!). More pressure makes the tire larger, less pressure makes it smaller, and the speed sensors pick that difference up and set off the light. If you run different pressures than the door (and often you should), resetting it makes the computer relearn based on your preference.
