Relax to the sounds of an empty hallway as it rains outside. Rain can be heard near the left coming through an open window while Leon's breathing and various creature sounds can be heard coming from the distance.

Someone was criticizing this games ambience compared to the original saying it sounded too calm for a city being invaded by zombies. I personally think this sounds about right considering how far along it is at this point. In re3 they nailed the beginning chaos. Also it should be noted that heavy rain can drown own distant noises like groans from humans/zombies.

Well said. People tend to forget that during resident evil 2, a lot of, if not most of the living died out in Raccoon city, along with a sizeable portion of the zombie hordes that ran rampant during the more heavier fighting between the zombies and the living throughout the city. At this point, the zombie infestation has settled and now you see the aftermath of what was a frantic city under siege.

@@kennypowers1945 RE7 had hardly anything going on compared to RE2 and RE3 remakes but I still find RE7 to be scarier, its emptiness is part of what makes the environment come alive, you really feel trapped in some scary as fuck murder House where 2 and 3 are brilliant but they both feel more like you're just playing a game to me rather than actually being stuck in a nightmare

A damn near perfect game but the Lab disappointed somewhat. The PS and Sewers had great level design but the Lab failed to portray an industrial level design. You cannot portray something in the depths of Raccoon City underground as a business like environment. It should have been more industrial. RE3’s lab in the remake was close to what I was looking fo.

@@captainjaber5610 For me it was the other way around. I did not like the sewers but loved the laboratory section. I just love this clean laboratory look even though it does'nt fit that well into the city itsself because it feels so scary that something like this is there and quite some shit happened. I like the design of the sewers but i hate those big enemies that you have to kill or dodge. It just felt partly too scripted for me for feel scary. In my eyes things that are scripted should be a boss fight but do that with "normal" enemies and it feels a bit off.

The rain ambiance i guess it was a nice concept, but i found more unsettling the old WINDY sounds with moans in the ambiance. Rain just relaxes.

Yea but the fact that you couldn't react made it scary. The rain so relaxing yet disturbing some what. A lot of fights between good and evil take place in the rain.

Operation raccoon city was the biggest hype up of that, and the biggest let down. I sadly admit, I waited on a damned line to return to raccoon city and hoped to explore it. Biggest game flop disappointment for sure.

Funny enough this works great for the RPG ambience of having found a abandon castle to hide from necromancer lords and their army of the undead while I patrol to gather resources and reinforcements, as well as clear any undead in the abandon castle before repairing it and setting up communication to then expand. I mean, it is literally the exact same concept, plus the fact that it is in an area with a lot of rain clouds that exist only to block out juuuuust enough of the sun that it cannot harm vampires.
