I remember reading somewhere that Shinji Mikami put these qtes in the game cuz he wanted to make players feel unsafe even during cutscenes and too scared to put the controller down. It's not his fault that every developer under the sun copied this one idea

These are also why I love the originals more. Practically, you get dropkicked and expecting it? Either you get back up or you don't. Get thrown down, same thing. Remake has less "I don't give a shit, so I don't give a- fuck was that?", just "'Shitfuck!' because you didn't have a knife" and such. That's just me and my thoughts on.

I would've played and finished this game way back then, if not were the menacing enemies such as the chainsaw peeps and Ashley soloing herself to get to Leon (yeah, I somewhat suck at playing an unarmed character). They still gave me nightmares to this day. 💀 Of course, there are other certain enemies that also fightens me, but should be manageable just fine.

It’s definitely weird that this is more brutal than the remake, I feel like in the remake sometimes when he dies he just kind of falls down. I wonder if it’s because the 2000s was a more edgy time or people or maybe they don’t want to put stuff like this is when the graphics are more realistic, not sure. But it’s a horror game, I wish they would have kept these, it makes so you really don’t wanna die lol

Honestly love and appreciate the brevity on the OG. Sure the remake ones comes of as brutal too but it's so excessive to the point of Mortal Kombat levels of cheesy ecen though they went with unnecessarily serious tone otherwise.
