Ironically the most game accurate thing about these movies are the characters from the games dropping in and out of the sequels without any explanation.

One of the questions I always had with this film is about the Alice clone bodies. Alice is infected with the T Virus. Yes, she is Asymptomatic and a carrier alive meaning she can't be turned into a Zombie by a bite. According to the Red Queen, the T Virus attacks the central nervous system after death. So unless they put a bullet in the head of each clone, shouldn't each one of them reanimate as a Zombie?
@grantpflum6844
@grantpflum6844 Жыл бұрын
Those clones don't show any signs of enhancement. Since Alice was an employee, Umbrella infected, and we later find out even the "original" was a lab born creation of theirs, its entirely possible these clones were made from Alice's DNA that Umbrella had on file from BEFORE she was infected.

Issacs actually let her go in the last movie to test run the shutdown he did in this one and to see if he could control her like they controlled Nemesis. It worked and they wound up having Alice kill the little girl that was with them. That is why she wasn't with Carlos and LJ in the beginning of this movie. She wanted to protect them from herself. Yes, as I said I love these movies. Except for the final one. The final one was atrocious. Next two are phenomenal though. Fun fact I forgot to mention about the first movie is it is the first movie I watched the commentary track on the DVD and omg Mila, Michelle, and Paul are fucking hilarious. "Yogurt!?" 😂😂

@TheDevilinThePaleMoonlight
@TheDevilinThePaleMoonlight Жыл бұрын
Let's be honest. At this point, Wes Anderson is just vying for the King of the Simps award and wants everyone else to see his wife as a beautiful, unassailable, super human goddess. We all know hes just making these movies to keep his nose firmly up her ass and for the easy money they both make off them without having to put in ANY actual effort. He's never cared about resident evil as an IP or its lore, it's always been about him and his wife's ego and the money. The dude is a consummate ass-hat and deserves all the dumps that everyone takes on him and all these shitty films. He's literally been in charge of all these movies and cares so little for their own continuity and lore that even his retcons have retcons. The absolute worst part about all this is they aren't even so bad they are good, they are just so bad that they keep getting worse and the Resident Evil IP in film had SO MUCH promise to be something great but it got hijacked by a hack director and his wife for vanity and money. SMDH😔

In case anyone wanted to know what happened to Angie Ashford since she's never seen again after *"Apocalypse",* well it's revealed in the novelization of *"Extinction"* by Keith R. A. DeCandido, Alice - under the mind-control orders of Issacs - shot Angie to death, which left Alice with so much guilt that she leaves the Strike Team and it continued to haunt her even in her sleep. So in that context, Angie went down in the same path as fan favorites Newt in *"ALIEN 3"* and John Connor in *"TERMINATOR: Dark Fate".*

Weird to me that Alaska would would be a safe haven since it seems like the cold would allow the zombies to stay better preserved. Like, unless the T-Virus prevents decay in the normal zombies (as opposed to the more mutant oriented creatures), somewhere warm and wet seems like the best place to have short zombie "life spans".

The later movies just create so many plot holes for the eariler movies to the point where Anderson either forgot or only half remembered what he established in the previous films. Like the Final Chapter telling us that Isaacs was in actuality the 50% owner of the Umbrella company with the one we saw in 2 and 3 just being a clone. The problem is not only was this clearly never planned (as I suspect the only reason why Anderson even brought back Iain Glen despite killing him off was simply cause he got popular in Game of Thrones), but if this is the case why do seemingly none of the Umbrella higher ups recognise him as the 50 percent owner of the company on top of which why would this Isaacs just be okay working as some low level scientist and taking orders under Wesker whom he's actually higher up then? Especially when the Isaacs in that movie tells us that all his clones think their the original.

The last film is a complete mess. I really think they were making it up as they went. From what I recall, it was a complete sh*tshow on set in South Africa, with multiple accidents and at least one fatality. One stunt woman had her left arm so badly injured she had to have it amputated. A crew member died when a Humvee moved off its mounting points and crushed him.

From what I recall, Alice's voice over says the virus infects everything, causing mass vegetation and animal death which lead to changes in weather patterns I took the longer incubation time to be a sign the T Virus has mutated or the people who are still alive have a stronger defence against it. That would also explain why Issacs is so eager for an Alice antibody, the ones Umbrella had made earlier don't work now. In the original film they showed it had to be taken within a certain time (I think?). I liked this film, sure it had its problems but it made sense in universe as a progression of the unfolding disaster. The next one, I felt wasted the potential of this one. Let's not even talk about the last one. EDITED FOR TYPOS.

For some reason, whenever I see this movie, I can never remember it afterwards. The exerperience just immediately leaves my head. I wonder if this franchise would've worked a little better for itself if it simply was its own thing. A crazed, conveluted soap opera with zombies, mutants, clones and psychic powers - trying to go more balls to the wall with each instalment. Either way, this is the part of the series where it starts to lose me.
