That woman talking to the students gives me the creeps. She talks to them like the kind of person you see years after in the news and you learn that they've been abusing and mistreating children for generations. Other than that, great fucking video.

Question??? When hearing the stories of NY, CHICAGO, DETROIT and UK Djs talk about the history of their music and what made them want to Dj they often reference back to other djs ( Larry Leven, Frankie Knuckles, DJ Harvey ECT) Was the south African dance movement built from other Dj's or groups from SA or was it totally built organically in the last few years? Was their a SA Dj putting out house music in 1992 for example.
@ogsmilesthedj73194 жыл бұрын
Basically the guys who operated record shops, clubs and independent dance music labels in the early 90's brought a whole lot of international house music into the country once international sanctions were lifted and with that came the sounds of legendary house musicians like those you have mentioned. They knew about the music but it was hard to get before the 90's. So labels like House Afrika, Foreal House, Soul Candi played a huge role in pushing the music through their record shops and labels and have legendary compilation series in their rosters from the likes of Dj Fresh, Oskido, Vinny Da Vinci, Glen Lewis, Dj Mbuso and a whole lot more. I think the scene really started maturing in the late 90's into the 2000's but the 2010's was when the locally produced house started taking off in a big way, because it was mostly internationally produced house music that dominated the market before then here in SA.

yep is tough when your biggest passion and profession is underground music in a poor country, big up from mexico city, I STILL HAVE FAITH TOO
@Touchthibo9 жыл бұрын
House in our country is not underground, it's mainstream. As for being from a third world country, I will disagree with you on that one. South Africa is very complex, even to us citizens. We don't label ourselves a third world country, as you are bound to go from one extreme to the other within a kilometer.
