Wylie Fire Rescue

PLEASE READ:
This video is shared to be used for firefighter training and discussion.
Wylie Quint 142 was the first unit on scene. WFR uses the total Quint concept with 4 firefighters on each apparatus. Using (2) CAFS handlines with Novacool UEF 0.4% and TFT CAFS Nozzles. We used PPA to pressurize the house and defend the un burned spaces, this fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the room of origin, and the attic. WFR was able to safely salvage many of the residents belongings.

I watch a lot of structure fires on KZbin and I have NEVER seen anything like this before. The research, communication, organization, planning, teamwork,and follow through is nothing like I have ever seen before!! Congratulations and keep up the great work. Please train all the other fire departments in the United States ASAP!! Superb!!

Great example of how effective an interior attack can be on even a well advanced fire. It's rarely an easy call for a battalion chief to risk crew by going interior on a house fire, but this one was a no-brainer and the crews conducted a clinic on how to knock down a fire from inside. Few more beautiful sights than water fountaining up from an interior attack - for every bit that goes into the air, a crap-ton more is getting dumped on the seat of the fire.

Positive Pressure Attack with Power fans is not necessary. Pressurizing a house that you are going to pull nearly all of the ceilings will not benefit from this method. You only increase volume of air into and through a flow path and make the fire more intense. every thing else was well done. I appreciate the tactics. Few departments will do it right as seen countless times on U tube.

Some of it came down to plain old timing. Another 1-3 minutes before the fire was reported, it would be tearing through the rest of that lightweight construction. Good aggressive attack and I agree on the PPV.

after a slow start upon arrival the crew did a fast job of knock down. I didn't see anyone do a 360. Like the use of foam right off the bat. Our dept is too cheap to use foam except as a last resort.

Hi, No condemning ;but lots of questions. 1st, why did it take that long to assemble the FF at the front door. 2nd, what type of foam are you using and does it work better than other type's?, When they entered, they did do a quick knock down. I'm a ex navy FF and we enter all spaces with a two man intertwined. No. 1 nozzle team was the knock down and No. 2 was the spray team, They kept the heat and smoke away from the teams. I was on both teams.

One thing that does baffle me is with attic fires, unless it is electrical caused, what else outside of a lightning strike can cause an attic fire?
@86medic1
@86medic1 4 жыл бұрын
Why use ppv so soon and on the same side as the fire? Wont that just push the fire farther down the delta wall and adding so much extra air flow could potentially cause compartments to flash quicker.
