Gorgeous!!! You are correct about ventilation when working with pigments:) very air borne! I’m a mica colorant seller and my absolute favorites out of all the colorants I carry is the neons!! I started with soap being my only source for the mica colorants, and ventured onto more adventures with them! Stunning work hun! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!!!

Stephanie. Thank you what a lovely comment. There are so many artists showing pouring videos at the moment it all feels a bit over done. This seemed a bit different and fresh for you guys to have a look at and of course goes back to my love of micas on the dark background. My videos are so low tech but I prefer to concentrate on the art. Glad you enjoyed.

Thanks for a wonderfully helpful video, Chris and for showing your stunning work. I was particularly interested in your levelling “device” and wonder if you could show it and tell me where it came from, as i have real trouble getting things level. Thanks
@crisscross1046 жыл бұрын
Hubby made them for me. The are Tnuts imbedded into a chipboard base and then bolts that have something stuck on the end to help you turn up and down. The bolt head becomes the base of the foot. Tripods are easier to level. I show it in a bit more detail in my wavescape video. I then put them in ziplock bags to keep them clean as the resin just peels off.

Hello I also love florescent pigments but I worry about the poor lightfast quality that these pigments have. Do you have any tips for how to improve how lightfast these pigments are? Thank you for your time I love watching your videos
@crisscross1046 жыл бұрын
I suppose the key is to protect your piece as much as you can. Keep out of direct sunlight, UV resistent resin, you can spray with uv varnish. And try to buy the most lightfast pigments you can afford.

Thank you for an other great lesson. You are such an inspiration to so many of us. I am wondering which brand of pearl pigments you used in this video? I have several mica powders in many shades, but have not played with pearl pigments.
@crisscross1046 жыл бұрын
Thank you Andrew. These pearl pigments are from a China Ebay seller called colorperk. Pearls are a lovely addition to almost everything. Happy pouring.

Hi Chris. I always look forward to and thoroughly enjoy your videos and willingness to share your creative works as well as your cheerful and calm attitude. I have a question regarding the ratio of your resin mix. Do you need to adjust your 1:1 mix of part A and part B (or whatever the ratio may be) to accommodate premixing your pigments with the part A resin ahead of time to avoid lumps? Or is the amount of part A so small that it does not matter?
@crisscross1046 жыл бұрын
Thank you Douglas. Great question. In this case because I was using the pigment powder for so much of the resin I did adjust slightly the part A. If I was only using a little amount I would not bother. I guess everyone realises I am heavy handed with my colourants so I do sometimes need to watch the consistency and make sure I have the mix right.

Thanks Chris. That is very helpful. Again, thank you for sharing. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and kindness.

Beautiful work!! May I ask when do you take the tape off?
@crisscross1046 жыл бұрын
It actually depends on the resin. With the quick cure type you can take of in an hour or two. With the slow cure two - three hours. I only want the edges to soften rather than spill over.
