The alien dogs were, well, dogs, and the widowmakers were in stasis in the towers (they were originally meant to be cows). The crawlers used to be cicadas.

Amazing video, couldnt have rewiewed it better. I (20yo) grew up with this game with my dad. I now play on ps5, and my dad (62) had turned more and more docile, decided to get him booted up on my old ps3 as a hobby for him as i never threw it away. Seeing him play all the classics including resistance is invaluable and he still remembers certain scenes even 14 years later. Amazing game great rewiew!

I love the resistance series (especially 3) but my biggest issue with this series is the NPC’s. Every time I try to line up a shot your NPC troops would run in front of you to block your shot. They’d act like their helping by firing at the enemies, but of course, their shots do no damage. They’re just there to block your shots and drag a heated fire fight out longer than it has to be.

This was the 1st game I got for my original but sadly dead PS3. Really enjoyed the both Resistance 1&2 as I'm a sucker for cool military sci fi and alternate history shlock.

I played through this on RPCS3 at 1440p 60fps and yeah one of the best shooters ever. The Assault Rifle feels awesome and I love the storytelling via the woman. And its refreshing to have an FPS with a non COD control scheme. Wish 2 and 3 kept the unique controls instead of emphasizing ADS

I got about 3/4 into this game but then just rage quit on normal difficulty. But Resistance 3 is spectacular!

and 2 is kinda sucky compared to 1 and 3 but its still not too bad, also no coop in 2. but the multiplayer 8 player coop pve mode was pretty great in 2, and you cant go wrong with the horror story mode mission in the hotel well done stuff.

They just don't make games like this anymore. It kind of reminds me of the earlier cod games. There is a really good amount of level variety and it actually makes you feel like you are fighting in a actual army in a actual war which modern war games seem to lack for some reason. The set pieces are amazing to. I didn't get to play this when it was new but I could see this being a awesome next gen experience back in the day when it came out. It still holds up really well for it's age mostly due to great games design and a solid art style.

I am currently playing it and the first two levels are ok but I was burned out at the end of level 3, its just relentless. Walk to an area kill wave of enemies, turn a corner and defeat another wave of enemies, die from a cheap kill and start the section all over again. Feel like I have been playing this game for 10 hours but only on level 3.

Always liked the more ferocious type of gameplay in the first resistance. Enemies are very aggressive and most of the weapons have great feedback. Resistance 2 totally blew this by having cheap encounters with braindead A.I that only aggro on you, the level design was abysmal, the graphics were somehow worse and the weapons werent as satisfying to use. Resistance 3 redeemed the franchise with a much much better campaign, better graphics, satisfying weapons and better encounters.

I agree, Resistance 2 had good ememy designs though for their new enemies, I just didn't like the game play and story. As for 3 I loved the game but some design changes didn't sit right with me, like the widow maker and leapers.

And people don’t realize this but you could dodge the Chimera’s bullets by jumping and strafying even when close up So if your really skilled you could practically be in front of an enemy and not get shot And this is only in Resistance 1 btw. I was disappointed when they removed it

I love this game. Playing it on RPCS3 with mouse and keyboard is fucking awesome, allows for playing the game even more aggressively. The series lore and style is really interesting. The third game is really awesome too. The second game is a lot worse, but curiously, it had some developmental issues. The game's worst design decisions were made late in development; Originally, it had the same health and weapon system as the first and third games, but late in development, they added a different health system and a weapon limit.

It was such a bich to play. It felt cheap and clunky for most of the time, though I grew quite fond of the main rifle - the high magazine size, quick reload and alright firerate and accuracy all made the gun fun to use. And it looks cool.

This game was hit or mis for me. I do like the concept and thought the alien design was good...but some of the later levels were kinda meh. And I thought the finale was very lackluster. Still a solid game & solid series, imho. I still have them too. Too bad that my PS3 broke and the series was never remastered for PS4.

Please Insomniac, please bring this game to PS5 or better yet the PS6 ( in 2027), I want this game back. It does not have to be a remastered edition or a reboot to the series. Just let it be a Retro classic collection to the PS5 or future PS6 please. I don’t want this game to be forgotten by the Next Gen console’s. Because of this game trilogy that PlayStation sold so many PS3’s in 2006. So don’t let this game pass away. Bring it back in a Retro classic collection to the PlayStation in the future. Better yet, re-release it in 2026 as a Retro classic collection to the PlayStation classic collection library collection. In it’s 20th anniversary birthday.

I played and almost finished Fall of Man, for the fist time, this year, 2022. I would go to say it's one of the most bullshit games ever made. The campaign is tunned for co-op play, even in single player. Playing on anything higher than Easy is BRUTALLY hard. Even if most enemy weapons are projectiles and not hitscan, every bullet does extremely high damage and there are a lot of enemies at all times. Enemies also have weapons WITH WALL HACK. Basically you can't hide in cover because they'll shoot you through walls. This was one of the dumbest gameplay decisions I've seen in my life.

I honestly don't see what's so special about this series. Just another generic brown shooter with a boring story where the Strogg...I mean the Chimera invade Earth and kill humans, capture humans and [insert another predictable intention of big bad aliens] here. Everything about the game is generic and average. The story, the characters, the music, the gameplay, the weapons... There is simply nothing remarkable about the game. I guess it must have been a launch title that got lucky.
