In general, maybe, but mostly that has to do with when you're preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and furthering God's kingdom. Satan doesn't care if you make millions of dollars as long as you're not a Christian. He wants unbelievers to make tons of money because then they'll destroy themselves with drugs, women, and materialism. If you don't know Jesus, then the devil doesn't pay you any mind.
@littlefishbigmountain
@littlefishbigmountain Жыл бұрын
@@TheMidnightModder All he said was “doing something right”. Greed and vanity isn’t doing something right And just my two cents here, but the devil is quite happy to cause unbelievers suffering upon suffering. I don’t see in the Bible anywhere that says that the enemy _only_ attacks believers. He attacks them in a special and more coordinated, warlike way, sure. He’s also sadistic and prideful and despises imagebearers of God, which all people are, and wants to put them in deep bondage and teach them to love it and to curse God like he does to keep them there, and to give them the same fate to try and rob them from God and deny the finished work on the cross another soul to save
@TheMidnightModder
@TheMidnightModder Жыл бұрын
@@littlefishbigmountain I was probably too specific saying that the devil won't pay you any mind if you're an unbeliever, clearly he does, but interpreting it as hyperbole will give you a better understanding of what I mean.

You didn't quite get it though I think. From an artists perspective, writing for example, the less you want to write that text the more you should lay yourself bare and do it. It's more vulnerable and personal to you and therefore you both don't want to do it and also why you should. The size of it doesn't really determine its difficulty or your resistance. You could write a book the same length that feels easy to you because it lacks depth and your true perspective.

I realized that the reason I wanted to write and illustrate a timeless childrens' book, was to "immortalize myself" after I'm gone. Since I realized that, I have had no need to write it. I think I feared death and realized a book wasn't gonna change that?

That's interesting. I also work with illistration but what motivates to do the work is the work itself. Drawing is really fun, and also really hard!! I have thought about how long the work will last and what will people think about it. My conclusion was that it does not matter. There is no possible way of knowing certain things. So, who cares. According to the latest data the universe itself will die from heat death eventually; but, in reality, what is most likely is that we live in a virtual machine that is running inside some creatures desktop computer, or hey, even more humble would be that our entire universe is running inside some creatures pocket cell phone in a Sim game of some kind, or inside a kind battery or energy source. Illustration is a great form of communication. It can help us understand life better. Illistration is a primal form of communication that transmits ideas and emotions instantaneously without using any words or sounds. It can be a thing of beauty, it can inform, motivate somone out there now or in the future. Your work can be a small seed for someone out there to help them in their current situation or to help them solve a problem. Illustration is like a frozen little tought that has been crafted from years of practice and dedication and learning. A "message in a bottle" to someone out there in the present or 2 billion years in the future if our colective consciousness can survive that long. And the more you practice the better and more rewarding it gets. Now, after 30 years of practice, learning the craft f#©king up endless contless times, giving up other contless times; the "shadow" of my thoughts and emotions have a form, as very well put by this guy! Getting to the form part, not focusing on the shadow of whatever your obcession may be is a major source of pain. I have been endlessly frustrated by it. Now, I can say, I enjoy this craft. I can shape forms and thoughs and watch the process of thinking with my own eyes through my hands with something as common a a pencil and a peice of paper.. The work is freakin amazing, if you as me, once you pass through infinity. As one of my teacher told me "it's an obsession". That is the meaning of a craft to me. Its a love and hate relationship. You with yourself and you with your work. Exactly what this guy talk about. There is a pain to it, and that is just how life is. Whatever comes out will surprise you.. eventually.. right now, next week, or 10 years from now.
