The only way I escaped my depressed life was simply just shutting down social media and focusing solely on bettering myself. I took 3 years off, stopped worrying/envying others and worked on my goals. I took care of my body and soul, intentionally. I am finally at peace and content with myself now, that nothing really brings me down. It's not easy but it's doable if you are disciplined enough.

Yeah, your brain is set up to swing like a pendulum and overcompensate when doing so! So, if you get happy, afterwards comes the sadness. But if you get sad, youll get those feel good brain chemicals afterwards 😋 but it makes sadness almost addictive, and some fall into a trap of victimizing themselves. The good news is your brain can be trained and programmed, but the bad news is your brain WILL be programmed (with or without your consent). The Gospels and psychology today have some great reading material on how to train your brain right. God bless everyone❤️😊

It's true. Before smart phones, when I had to search out a book for information, listen to the radio to eventually hear my favorite song, etc, life was actually much more exciting and meaningful, for me. With so much info at our fingertips, yes it can be great, but things lose some meaning.

I totally agree. Time keeps speeding up and fast isn't fast enough. Even people driving are less considerate of others but they have Christian bumper stickers etc cutting you off going eighty then praising Jesus on Sunday. Addiction goes with pain...we are all hurting.

@clairechloe5294

👍👍👍Yes, that is so true and it is a fact. You can read about "suffering" as a part of life if / when you read about Buddhism. Buddha said "life is suffering". But that does not mean that you have to be unhappy about it. In fact, Buddha was a happy being because he understood the impermanence of everything in life. I follow buddhism since I was a kid. So I just wanted to share these thoughts with others. It is important to learn to balance life and real happiness comes from within. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@anabellecoetzer442
@anabellecoetzer442 Жыл бұрын
@@clairechloe5294 is suffering always part of life? I often found myself wondering if suffering is not just our ego and by not letting the ego control us but rather observing it suffering no longer has a hold of us. I'm not saying some crazy magical thing is gonna happen where when you let go of everything suddenly you become a queen and have all you desire but rather just that we are so small in the endless expanse that is the universe that what we do in truth doesn't matter at all. What humanity does does not matter as a whole but what I do in the lives I touch does. Because every moment I take to listen every kindness I show touches a life and creates a connection in that sense it matters because for a moment I created a bridge that allowed me to connect to the universe outside myself. Sorry I'm going on nonsensical poetic rants maybe I don't fully understand everything but buddhism has always interested me so I enjoy asking questions and better understanding it as I do most things I value.

How you beat it is change up your routine all the time and allow yourself to be sad and feel like you don't have the thing you want. Go hiking, go to the beach, go to a library, take yourself out for a coffee or tea and buy some plants. Do things that you aren't addicted to but that change it all up and break up your habits. Also don't be a coward about it...feel your emotions and be upset and feel the scary parts. You'll grow.

How many people no longer have bonded relationships with others who love them? Online interactions is not the same as in person, or behind masks? Even seniors are more isolated than ever. How many people now eating proportionally a poor diet, bad for mental and physical health based on processed seed oils, HFCS, fructose (juice), flour, all types of sugar, processed carbohydrates, excess grains, starches, refined food products, pop, and alcohol? A worsening problem.

At what is worse is that we will never know the true number of people who suicide because they got this new law that doesn’t require coroner to put on record if a person killed himself/herself. I think it was done on purpose not to scare people so everyone is just minding their own business. It is so sad. But we don’t see any marathons or awareness programs about suicide. People always were depressed and anxious but most of them were not aware,as you said,and i think they did not have any knowledge about their disorder,so their troubles maybe were bigger than today. And discrimination of mental disorders was much more stronger in that time. I am so sad about that generations of people,i can imagine how hard it was to them because you dont know anything about your disorder,and you feel hopeless.Today at least you know what is going on with your mental health and you can try to fix it.

The best way to describe it is this, think about it as too much of a good thing. After you experience a specific pleasure you want it again, but the next time you experience it, it isn't going to be as good as the first time. The time after that isn't going to be as good as the time before and so on and so forth until eventually nothing you do is going to give you pleasure and you're going to be left in nothing but a pit of depression. You can look for something else to give you a new source of pleasure but the same thing is just going to keep happening over and over again. Sometimes just being content is enough. Stop looking for more.

It's not the seek of pleasure the main problem. That's a coping mechanism. People are in pain from the start and want to numb out with short term enjoyment. You shouldn't try to "treat" this problem without working on the core problem(s) first or are least without finding a better/healthier coping mechanism. It's unfair to an individual to force them or shame them for coping while they're still struggling, it's like leaving them drowning in their hopelessness. I hope everyone gets their true healing ❤️
