As a mountain guide/climber turned hunter those opening statements are so true. Hunting gave me a greater appreciation for the land and interacting with it. Combining both climbing and hunting is a bit of a dream of mine, multi-sport days are the best.

I can identify! Grew up hunting, trapping and fishing in the flat prairies of the United States. Got into mountaineering for a good 10 years. in my 30s but found my way back to hunting. Back country hunting in BC is the best!
