I have an HP OFFICE JET PRO 6968. It has been a great printer but started leaving streaks on the printed paper. Over the years I have had this problem and I guess I stumbled on the problem. I would open up the scanner door and wipe everything down and I guess I also wiped the glass. This time when I cleaned up the way I normally do it didn't fix the problem,. I took a shot and googled the problem and found your site. I did what you said about gleaning the glass. It worked. I can't thank you enough. You made this problem go away and if it comes back I will know what to do to fix it.

OMG THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I thought I was going to have to take the scanner apart and clean inside glass or some sort of repair. I came across your video and it was so simply explained and easily done. I had even cleaned the outside glass and still got the streak. But when I came across your video, got a flashlight on the area where the line met, voila!!!!! there it was. A tiny something on the glass. Scratched off, cleaned again and NO MORE STREAKS.......AWESOME

Totally worked. I couldn't see the spot, but after doing the X on the sheet of paper in the ADF to line it up, I was able to spot the tiniest of marks. Thank you.

Thanks a million. Having to scan multiple page documents manually using the flatbed would have driven me batty! I have a different series HP multifunction printer but this video taught me the issue was with the glass of the ADF so I cleaned one and then the other and like magic, the streak is gone.

I feel so stupid that i didn't look this up sooner. The trick with the lines showing you where the dirt was is perfect. Even after I cleaned it I missed the two tiniest spots but they made big streaks! Great easy video. Thank you

I lined up the paper to see the area that may be causing the problem. I couldn't see it but when I scrapped it with my nail as suggested the line went away. Thank you very much. Very helpful.

Very very useful video. It was a transparent water mark that was causing the streak. I was scanning through the flatbed page by page and I was sick of it. I wished I had come across this video sooner. Thanks a Million !

Wow, all these years, all it took was a little windex on the glass and magically the lines are gone. You should update the thumbnail of the video to use the video frame at point 1:53 in the video showing the little dot on the glass with the red circle. This would help people more.

Make video for HP 3545 printer too...there are no videos for it. Everytime we connect to printer via app on smartphone it says HP 3540 instead of 3545 and no firmware update last it was when I bought the printer.

What about the 1% of us that have streaks on paper that is not resolved by cleaning the glass? We have a Pagewide Pro 477 DW and have multiple streaks to the left of the X side of the paper.

hp can you make a video on cleaning one of your scanners WITHOUT a lid/glass??? i searched google for an hour 30 mins and found NOTHING on how to clean ANYTHING without a lid/glass!! hp deskjet 3752 there is NO lid there is NO glass like in this video its just a thin plastic piece that cant be taken apart or lifted and theres no other option for scanning/copying, its a small printer with NO glass and NO lid, i need to state that SEVERAL TIMES because its important, NO GLASS AND NO LID ARE ON THIS MACHINE.
