What if my laptop is not on a domain? Should I write workgroup in the box provided for domain or keep it empty? And will I have to enter IP address of my laptop too? Like if share folder 'scans' is on laptop, will the path be '\\192.134.1.243\desktop\scans'?

Try connecting the printer to your network manually so that the HP installer can find the printer. Use the Wireless Setup Wizard if you have a touch or text-based control panel.
