One thing that's not discussed too often is the amount of options these radios have with out having to purchase additional licensing like Motorola has done. The instant recall requires no license, Motorola requires a license or does not have it. Custom voice announcement, call routing, Bluetooth, gps, dtmf air remote, control station conversion- these are just some of the things these mobiles can do with out license.

NXDN is the best digital for vhf simplex, is it legal on the RR channels, that's a lot of radio for only analog

kct-73mic is the mic and any button will do for ptt then set it up in your radio for ext ppt on a input

@@blackgoldestates172 can i have my original mic and that mic connected at the same time. so if i wanna use the original mic i can or if for some reason i cant then i can just hit a button to use the KCT-73 mic? also what do i need to get for wire harness for the inputs etc.. ?

A Ham radio licence is not usable on RR . In BC you must have a "Land Mobile Licence" and the radio must be approved by ISED and it must be a mobile unit not a handheld

In BC calling the correct order on the radio is Road - Km - Up/Down and try not to use Pick Up in your call!!

What are the part numbers for the visor mic and PTT button. I am chatting with my local Kenwood shop and they don't do many NX-5000's so they are unsure.

If anyone out there can give me some insight on a dual band radio system whether be a mobile radio or handheld in the Canadian FFC or whatever it’s called. Can you run a radio on a GMSR frequency or FSSR frequency hope you got the spelling right
