You might be wondering why I decided to continue responding to this person. Well, the answer is I don't have an answer. I just felt like it. While I was on an extremely relaxing month-long vacation in Japan this past month, I got an extreme itch to make content, and I love to argue, so I figure why not pick this back up and continue smoking this idiot. I would also say it's probably because I respond as a point of honor, as I dislike when there are false narratives about me out there, and well... I like to argue. You won't get the last word with me, especially when it's some easily refuted bullshit like this. That said, I'm genuinely at a crossroads on whether I should continue this back and forth. We're now over an hour and 40 minutes into this nonsense, and it's incredibly tiring to continue repeating myself over and over. We'll see how Future Birdman feels, but Present Birdman is tired. Anyway, enjoy this skewering Watch the previous video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKq0eIWHgtlsbdE

I've said this before, but I'll say it again. Multiverse of Madness PROVED that giving Thanos the time Gem wasn't the "ONLY" option. We saw a world where Dr. Strange actually had agency and did what Birdman suggested, and arrived at "The Book of Vishanti". There was no Engame in that world, only Infinity War. And that Dr. Strange actually recruited the Fantastic Four, Inhumans and X-Men on top of the Avengers. He was actually overly meticulous and prepared for Thanos... but even then, he wasn't without faults. So even in canon MCU, "our" Dr. Strange is just dumb and reckless.

Another point you could have raised for Strange is that even at the point of no return, after viewing the 14 million timelines, he could have simply used the time stone to travel back to the beginning of the movie when Bruce crashed in the Sanctum Santorum and used your method of defeating Thanos. Up until Thanos takes the Time Stone, there is literally no version of this movie where Strange would be "running out of time". Shandy was pulling that one out of thin air and hoped you wouldn't notice.

A good comparison to Dr. Strange character is Naruto vs Shikamaru. While Naruto is shown to be quite smart and able think of advanced plans on the fly he also prone to rush in to fights without thinking first. Shikamaru on the other hand always thinks first and comes up with plans before action. Naruto would always jump in head first to protect the village while Shikamaru would pause to consider the best way to do so. Ro ties this back to strange, while he's smart he's more like Naruto always jumping in hesd first without thinking. His plan with dormammu isn't proof he isn't reckless it's prof he is but he's able to think on the fly.

I think that's exactly how he did this video, which is how CinemaSins writes their videos, and it's why his videos feature all the same problems (such as later pieces of evidence conflicting with earlier parts of the video). He more or less confirmed this is how he does it in the community post; when he was replying to the people that commented on that post, he made claims like "most of (my) video was deriding (his) audio quality", when that was only at the very beginning of the video. This says that he DIDN'T fully watch the video, and instead is going to write his next response video as he goes along.

The Stan Lee point perfectly highlights the reason why superhero battles are dumb by design and why people arguing about the Strange vs Spiderman fight is pointless. The story dictates the circumstances in which hero would win, like Stan Lee said. For example, the Ice Man vs Iron Fist fight during Avengers vs X-Men series. Iron Fist completely destroyed Ice Man but it happened to rain, allowing Bobby to rebuild his body and win. It isn't who's stronger or more powerful, it's what are the conditions for the fight to decide who wins or not. For this fight, it was literally if it was gonna rain on that night. Applying this to the NWH fight, the circumstances that allowed Peter to win was due to him being underestimated, being treated like a kid/nuance and Strange using the Mirror dimension to try and trap him, resulting in Peter using geometry to create the trap. If it wasn't for these factors, Spidey would have a much lower chance of coming on top.

Other options Strange could've done: 1. Use a Sling Ring portal on his arm while on Titan instead of waiting for Thanos to come and then launching a surprise attack. 2. Use a Sling Ring portal to launch Thanos into space while on Titan. 3. Draw power from the Dark Dimension seeing how he was comfortable using it in MoM to save America 4. USE THE SLING RING TO CHOP OFF HIS ARM INSTEAD OF TRYING TO PULL IT OFF 😂 He's someone who does what HE believes is best. After DS1 he stopped caring ONLY (or mostly) about himself and caring for others and realizing not everything is about him. He gained a new positive trait, but that lesson he learned didn't solve the issue of HOW he wants to go about helping others. That trait he has, can still undermine his new selfless nature. He's a genius with powerful tools, who learned to be less of an ass and care about other people and help them, but even people like that can have flaws like that. I mean, Iron-Man 1 perfectly exemplifies this as that is essentially a part of Tony's character and the arcs he goes through in these movies. A genius hampered by negative traits

When I was in highschool, my friend LOVED debating with others on geek culture. And he noticed people who are mad, know they're in the wrong or know they're losing an argument would either raise their voice, or insult the other. And Shandy's trying to do more insults then proving any evidence.

I do think the point of putting What If’s consistency regarding characterization into question by bringing up how Thanos gave up his goal with the Infinity Stones because T’Challa was convincing was an interesting road to go down to try to salvage their point. Unfortunately, he didn’t dig deep enough into this idea in his video (which I did in watch on my own, before either of Th3 Birdman’s responses BTW).

Okay, I just thought of something. There's a fourth example of 616 Strange doing something without thinking about the consequences. At the end of Multiverse of Madness, he uses the Darkhold to possess a dead body in another universe, and pretty much everybody calls him out on this, and he gets a third eye, just like that evil Strange that damaged his universe

I love when someone screams "You're contradicting yourself!" and then almost IMMEDIATELY AFTER does that themselves just to "make a point". So many of the clips from those two do exactly that. Granted, if not for the comment of "I like to argue" I'd ask why Birdman bothers since they're actually doing amazing jobs of making themselves look foolish without his help. Buuuut knowing that point - I will just watch the slow roasting with hot flames. [And I hope I worded this correctly and don't come off as hating the wrong side lol]

I watched a chunk of this video. I got the gist for you recusing to the rest of his video. Yeah I agree the hypothetical would be the “better” timeline but then we wouldn’t have Endgame or phrase 4 or 5 (the way we have in the MCU) so I personally okay with the choice(s) that Strange did in Infinity War.

I know I'm stating the obvious here but for a guy who says he doesn't have a problem with you specifically he seems to insult you a lot in this video. Also, I've noticed when people run out of ways to find flaws in another person's argument they fall back on petty insults and seems like Shandy is a textbook example of that. I seriously lost count of how many times he threw some third-grade level insult at Birdman during the video.

In a comic book debate on the matter of "who would win", those guys' heads would implode if they were confronted with Squirrel Girl. Then again, probably not, because they've got the mutant ability of ignoring any material that doesn't fit their preconceived opinion. Hel, those guys are dumb, but amazingly adamant in their wrongheaded opinions. Fun! (Sorry for being ageist, but by the sound of that one pipsqueak's voice he's at most at the tail end of puberty, so maybe give it another ... decade?)

To add my own opinion on the matter and your video (specifically, Strange looking ahead with the Time stone): Original video (responding to a nut) small problem: Although it might have been viable, it's reasonable to assume Strange isn't using the Time stone all the time (Something that quickly became a big flaw as shown in What If series) but also that looking into the future requires some amount of time and effort. There's no reason for the doctor to suspect that as soon as he gets Tony (probably after Banner asks him to) Aliens would invade New York. The explanation about Thanos coming and what infinity stones are happened after the reunion with Tony, thus they could have talked for an hour or a few minutes... it's unclear. Similarly, it's unclear for how long Tony and the Guardians were arguing on Titan (and how long it took to look into the future). You are completely right about the characterization of Strange being arrogant and often impulsive know-it-all. But... do we know Strange saw beyond his death (Similar how the Ancient One couldn't)? What if the death of half the galaxy with the possibility of getting them back was the best option in his mind?! Thanos after all did the honorable thing of not killing anyone that he didn't have to after taking his armor off. Only Loki (for betrayal after being given a chance to live already) and Gamorra (Necessary sacrifice) and almost Tony (He got back up multiple times and possibly costed him a ship in Avengers). He could have snapped and finished off everyone he encountered... but didn't. Thanos gave everyone a chance to beat him and he still won. It's very reasonable that any action to destroy a stone or continue fighting him in a different way might still have resulted in massive deaths and Thanos might have won in multiple scenarios. If he could see beyond his death and thus, Endgame happened as expected, then... I guess you might have a point but also... only 3 deaths?! About this video: I have a problem about your argument of Destroying one stone = winning vs Thanos. With 3 Stones, Thanos was invincible already (except Thor, but bear with me). The only stone they could destroy was Mind, he'd still get Time eventually and reverse that. Thanos actually crushed what it looked like the Mirror dimension and negated duplicates/illusions thus, it's quite reasonable to instead assume Strange couldn't hide the Time stone from Thanos forever, after he gets the 4th stone. About Stormbreaker; Without the Mind stone, the fight wouldn't happen in Wakanda and Thanos would have no reason to go there for it, and even if a trap was prepared, we also know Thor isn't really the patient type of super-hero. Now, about the "No reason to continue looking for the stones": Thanos had one before, supposedly used to calculate the % of life wipe needed to create balance or sth like that, but he continued going from world to world, halving the population without the stones... with some of them, he couldn't just snap it, but it'd still be much more efficient than going at it manually as before. About Endgame (not your video). We have too little information about both his future sight (could he see beyond his death) and about his sparkly circles' distance (why didn't he get extra help to fight people on Titan, like... Thor with Stormbreaker, for example), and I have personally big problems with Chump Thanos of What If compared to the movies Chad All that for a drop of blood Thanos. In that case, the easiest explanation I could make is simply: Creating the portal for such long distances is either difficult or requires more than one sorcerer (hint in the exchange with Wong and other sorcerers helping getting so many portals and people from so many places at once. The future sight might have foreseen the TVA or the sacred timeline or the low chance of things succeeding (He can't control everyone, and not every one of his actions might have the same result?!). Unlike the videos you commented against, I am not gonna call you names since you have reasonable arguments, especially if you actually took time to read this long ass comment about my opinion about a fictional world written by a multitude of different authors. Most of the above was written before 30th minute of this videos. I really... can't. What the hell are those two (three?) on?! Never mind the "master" debating technique of trying to find stupid insults for weird reasons, they sound less coherent the more arguments they are bringing to the table, sometimes contradicting themselves in the next sentence. Maybe it's just how the video is edited up. Anyway, if you are still here, hope you enjoyed Japan.

I think it's funny that they're trying to build Dr. Strange up as this pristine character by saying he's a brilliant surgeon. As if brilliant surgeon with a god complex isn't a long established cinema trope. It is really difficult to ascertain what this boys really want in their movie characters. Do they want to them to be perfect? Do they want to see character development in every movie they appear in? Do they want to see situations played out as if they were some kind of perfect speed run? To me, they should want the Dr. Strange who would have honed in on the fact that destroying the time stone should have been investigated.. that Bruce's warnings should have been investigated.. Do they want characters who are perfect or do they want characters who have flaws that do open the door to more interesting plot lines, fatter gags, and bigger explosions?

Holy spit! I am error! I did not know Strange wasn't the Sorcerer Supreme. I watched the scene. Strange said Wong got it on account of him being gone for 5 years. Strange then says, before Wong interrupts him, that "...if I'd been here, then I..." This indicates he WAS in consideration for being Sorcerer Supreme, but not actual Sorcerer Supreme, and that Wong got it simply got due to Strange no longer being a candidate.

I love how people miss the ordeal of why the avengers lost in infinity war. All of he characters flaws that they refuse to change or haven’t dealt with are contributing factors for them losing. Even tony (a person that people dismiss a lot thinking he’s full of himself or crazy) was right in each instance. The only thing he’s guilt of is splitting the avengers but at the same time (Ya homeboys dog murked ya mom soooo). But also they miss the point of Strange. He could do all these things it’s not that he doesn’t have magic capable of doing so… he just doesn’t. Literally bird man says it over and over and over and seeing dummies who have no idea how to watch a movie,(Being real. At this point that’s what this is about.
