Billie Joe looks like he's barely aged. He looks a little older when he hasn't shaven but most people do. Facial hair is like the first thing to grey. Mike and Tre look great too. I don't really get the hate for Green Day. They seem like super fun guys and their music is great. I mean, I get if their music isn't someone's cup of tea but it's not really worth hating on. I mean, the trilogy was mostly garbage but it's not worth getting all snotty about it. If anything, they have a bit of a formula that I kind of wish they would break out of it a little more. That's what I liked about Warning, 21CB, and American Idiot. They stretched their sound further. Warning and AI are my top GD albums along with Dookie of course. Warning is one of the most underrated albums, ever. It's not like Green Day is the most technically astounding or greatest band to ever write a song. They write catchy alternative rock/pop punk and Billie Joe is a solid lyricist most of the time. If anything, his words have been incredibly relatable to me during my teenage/young adult years and I've formed an attachment to them. Mike's bass lines are pretty killer for the most part. I love Tre's drumming style too. I have nothing but love for the band. I don't usually comment on music videos of bands that I dislike. I don't see the point. People just like to hate.

Charlotte Roschkowski my friends said that about Wake Me Up When September Ends once and I was pissed af....in short my friends have the worst taste in music ever...they probably think Lil Pump is better than Led Zeppelin. Like it's one thing to not like a genre of music...but to trash it and make fun of people who enjoy it is beyond stupid.

@@jovepe266 you make a fair point. To us, it would be considered 'insensitive' because we know that it's about Billie's father, and how he passed when Billie was only 10. But for others who may not be aware of the meaning behind the song, it's just a play on words- they're taking it quite literally. And if i we're honest, when I first came across it, it made me smile a little, I understood the pun and everything. Eventually there does come a time where you just need to stop. The joke has been going around (probably) since WMUWSE came out, and quite frankly, it's getting boring and repetitive. Anyway, my point is, it's not entirely their fault if they don't know the meaning behind the song, but once you do, you should stop because no one wants to hear the same joke over and over again.

Flip Burger I don't agree with a lot of green day's lyrics, and I'm more than willing to admit that. When you think about it though, not all of the songs are political. American Idiot, for example, told a story. Also, a lot of the non-political songs, especially on older albums like Dookie are relatable at times. But as for the political lyrics, I don't really take offense. Everybody is allowed to express their political opinion, in any way they want.

I listen to lots of different bands, from classic rock to death metal, but Green Day appeals to me the most. I don't really care how "complicated" their songs are, it's not my requirement at all. I love power chords, and lots of people identify with GD songs through their emotive appeal. What's wrong with that? It's up to you if you like the band, however, most of these comments featuring in the video weren't about the "3 chords", but about things like "OMG they are too political!!" and really unrelated stuff)

At least they write songs that are about real world issues that we face today. It's not like they are trying to spark some kind of controversy in politics or the evolution in American culture, they just want to say things as they are and give people courage to speak the truth and their minds. I have to disagree with you on the politics point Jon. I love American idiot, it’s my favourite album by them, and I don’t have a problem with the political themes on that record because they were more subtle and the message wasn’t entirely directed at one political figure or political party. I know a lot of it came from the band’s disapproval of the Bush administration, but as Billie says on the Heart Like a Hand Grenade documentary, a big part of the album’s name and message is realising that not everything is the fault of one person, but that “maybe I’M an American idiot too”. I extremely disagree with the way that the members of green day have been shoving their political views down everyone’s throats, I’m not a trump supporter but I cringed when I saw them live and Billie yelled “FUCK DONALD TRUMP!”. I find it absolutely hilarious when people act like they are king shit because they say things like "I grew out of Green Day in my teens, they are so old." I mean c'mon, you couldn't have really liked them much in the first place if 1, you stopped listening to them because of their age and 2, unlike a lot of bands they actually mature and grow with you (I am looking at you, Simple Plan, still stuck writing crush anthems for tweens) and you somehow out matured them, which is clearly the case by the reasons you stopped listening to them. Then there are those of course, that somehow end up taking up their valuable time clicking on something they know they dont like, and wasting a part of their life commenting about it. Their loss. Green Day is awesome, and I feel sorry for those who are so closed minded about stupid things that have nothing to do with the actual music or lyrics that they wont even give the band a chance anymore. I used to hate being a Green Day fan because my friends are so ignorant about their music, saying it’s just cheesy, it really made my blood boil. But then I stopped caring and went to gigs on my own - the best decision I made with regard to music - it allowed me to have a blast with fellow Green Day maniacs, I’ve never looked back since.
