Hello I just watched the first 10 mins after YT recommended another video. It is just a bag. An overpriced French leather bag with marketing history that worked for it. I know it, I'm French lol Hermes doesn't care and is laughing in brutally direct French fashion. Btw most French women are not obsessed about buying an Hermes, they have a laissez faire and qui sera sera attitude. If it comes, it comes, if not that's OK too. I cannot understand the level of obsession, I don't mean to be hurtful but it just comes across to the viewer as some degree of calculated obsession. Hey Mel. I mostly agree with things youve said. However, i feel like your explanation for selling freebies/packaging was slightly contrived. You have said in videos on your channel that you appreciate free gifts and often ask for extra seasonal packaging. If you are allergic to dust and don't like clutter, why not just not ask for extra packaging? Why not offer to not accept the free gifts? Why not refuse that extra Hermes bag, knowing you have plenty at home and weren't interested in keeping it? That's sth i can't understand. I would rather you just admit plainly that you sell those free things and packaging for some extra spending money, if thats the case, or whatever actual reason you sell them for. In any case, i hope i see you no longer asking for extra packaging/accepting freebies that you know you won't be keeping. I believe there is a big reason for that game Hermès is playing. See, very rich people are free as you said yourself. They can basically get anything as soon as they want it. But a lot of these people are actually unhappy cause nothing is challenging anymore. They don’t have dreams and that can be a very sad thing. I know that we commonly believe that being super rich is amazing but there is another side to the coin that is quite dark. So yeah, by playing this game where money can not get you a bag whenever you want it, you keep those extremely rich an affluent people interested in your brand. You give them a challenge that deep down feels good to them cause they aren’t used to it anymore. Trying to get an Hermès bag sometimes gives a meaning or a goal to people who don’t have any. Of course, this doesn’t apply to us regular people cause we have struggles that millionaires and billionaires don’t have. But originally, Hermes was a brand that was aiming to a very rich clientele so they adopted a strategy that suited the targeted potential buyers. Honestly, they’ve been smart about that.
@Mod0308 Жыл бұрын
@@inescastelot160 the super rich don’t have to play this game. It’s the aspirational shoppers that they do this to. The ones that are sacrificing a larger percentage of their income in order to be a Hermes customer. But that’s the game. If you’re a small fish they make you sacrifice your dignity as well for the privilege of getting to enter “Their” orbit The sad part is that Hermes wouldn’t survive with their Uber rich clientele alone. It’s the normies that keep their doors open. If they all decided they were tired of being treated like shit and stopped shopping, Hermes would go under in 6 months or less. But unfortunately our society has conditioned people to value the APPEARANCE of status over dignity. That price is too high for me.

I politely refused and got the canvas accessory that I had come in for. The next time I returned with an appointment, my SA gave me the cold shoulder, barely looked at me, let me wait 45 minutes without anyone helping me. Other SAs starting coming over asking if they could help me, but I felt bad "cheating" on my SA, so I kept saying "I have an appointment with S., I'm happy to browse till she is ready". I kept making eye contact with her, smiling, thinking she might finally come over, but in the end she just pulled over a colleague and said with an eye roll "you help her", no word spoken to me, no introduction along the lines of "hey waugse, thanks for waiting, I'm going to put you in the safe hands of my colleague XYZ". Hi! I watched your original video where you explained what exactly happened and I quickly wanted to share something with you. I started my journey buying luxury designer goods when I was 18, during the years I found out one major thing- being a luxury brand customer unfortunately does not guarantee you get the "luxury brand" customer service that you would normally expect when you spend that much money. Speaking from experience (I live and mostly shop in London), the customer service here is beyond awful- and I am not only talking about Hermes, although there I've seen one of the worst. I am also into luxury jewellery (Cartier, Van Cleef ,etc. )and let me tell you the last few times the customer service has been so bad although I had an appointment, that I literally had to complain. It is not even about how much you spend, most SA's generally do not care and act entitled and rude which kind of ruins the whole experience of luxury shopping for me. Is it normal to get more decent customer service at boutiques of brands like Pandora or idk Swarowski, than at Cartier or Hermes.. I doubt it. For me personally, a big part of wanting to be a customer of luxury brands like this, must be the immaculate customer service which is unfortunately not the case. To be honest, because of that I now prefer to shop online mostly, it saves a lot of nerves- noone want to feel humiliated or belittled especially when they spend so much of their hard earned money on designer goods! Not to mention the queues that happen quite often in front of luxury boutiques in London- Goyard is a great example of that- they do not take any appointments and usually you have to wait for 40/50mins just to get inside...I mean thats crazy, isn't it? Like thank you, but no thank you!😃

I’m based in HK, a small but also highly competitive city for lux products. First after the pandemic swing in, quota bag here is asking for twice the selling price of the bag’s spending in order to get one (if popular color like rose Sakura would need even more, previously just 1:1 or less) so i don’t know if your spending is enough last year or your SA has communicate with you your spending is enough after deducting the quota bags you got previously Second, per my understanding here, the more frequent you switch SA (whether forced to or you choose to) the more difficult to get quota bag, becuz SA here “lookout” for bag coming in for you, they don’t have commission selling quota bag but only have commission from other like RTW and Jewelry, as the new SA didn’t get any good money from you, they are relatively reluctant to be your lookout but would favour their existing clients. I once turned reseller route when the SA I worked with resigned. Per my understanding it’s actually their KPI how many quota bag they can sell each year (equivalent to how much money they grab from one client in a year lol) so there is no reason they don’t offer you quota bag if you have reached it Third, the H game is not about “loyalty” they are in business and for business, they know very well they won’t have this much sales in their RTW (design is frequently bashed by the fashion community) and fine jewellery and watch without the pull of BKC, so it’s not about building portfolio but rather if you can stomach in one big item in single purchase. Here is if you keep buying just silk scarf and twilly it’s hardly able to reach their required spending levels, many of my friends here first time purchase buy their gold bangle and get offer of BKC within a months time before pandemic. As my fd said, just throw the money in their face, everything has a price including H, when it’s high enough they will do anything for you and “rules” are just for regular folks. Of course there’s always a lucky few exceptions stories to lure the regular folk in and as an example to deny the existence of linked sales, but have abundance supply of bullet with H certainly would put you with good CS. It’s just normal not all customers are treated “equal” (but of course should be respected) the more you spent the better the CS Fourth, linked sales in H is an open secret which no SA would be allowed to talk about it, I don’t know how’s your previous SA communicate with you, if you mentioned and emphasised spending so much in emails maybe it could be uncomfortable for them. I only “discuss” spending issue with my SA directly face to face, in a corner where there’s no one nearby (I always laugh with her that it’s like we are drug dealers lol), no record keeping whatsoever, they have an app in their phone which one punch in show your entire purchase history and can make remark of your wish listed bag and can show the bag inventory (I once scrolled through her app to choose from a list of mini C when I have reached my spending) Fifth, I don’t think H is actively against reselling when the reseller market here is like big business, it’s the resell price that makes regular folk thinking having BKC is a capital gain (an illusion) and maintain the status of H, their item is only “valuable” when it could be resell “with profit”. There s an H reseller shop in Macau with all these super rare H bags for sell and opening ceremony also invite local celebrities and press to attend, they are so high profile but nothing H can do/ will do. One way to launder money after a big gamble there would be buy an exotic H bag and resell it elsewhere, that’s how the lux and jewels are always associated with crimes and criminals. So I don’t think your reselling and eBay shop would be much of an issue before your KZbin video openly bashed them. If they really want to stop resell, they should brand the customer full name on the front of the bag lol that way nobody would want it in resell market then their business would plunge lol or do not provide any after sale service to any bag that were not brought to them by their original owner (easily done by matching bag ID with customer ID at sales), why they didn’t do it ?! It’s so obvious the resell market is there to support them lol Just my two cents re the above. But at the end of the day, it’s just a bag, if you are unhappy with them, go reseller route, fast, simple and hassle free and drama free
@Purseonfleek2 жыл бұрын
This is very valuable. Australia is ridiculous though we can get offers with 2:1 if u ok with b30/k28 less desirable specs. But if u want 25 sizes or desirable combos then expect to spend much more... i heard sg is similar to go 2:1 for mostly any combo. I definitely spent 2:1😂 however I'm certain it was a personal reason I wasn't offered due to Sm didn't like me "personally" as I now know someone who works at H and they checked that there is no blacklist on my profile at all, oh and that sm is as asked to leave late last yr n finished handover early this yr. Idk if affiliated with him breaching privacy policy or drama I don't know. But U are right H don't care about resale it's rampant and they know even about bots buying online and do nothing .

Purseonfleek I know ppl who use robots in their website to hook for rodeo, lindy, mini lindy and stuff like that with keywords, some of their orders would get cancelled as it seems like each order to reviewed manually, if one account placed too frequent an order for certain items like rodeo, the orders get cancelled without reason. Even with that it’s impossible to stop this completely, they are just doing a half hearted work when it comes to reseller becuz reseller is helping the brands image (showing the bag’s worth in the market) and tarnishing the brands image (losing the discreetness and exclusivity, which is their magic, when you see so many BKC with different color and combos lining up for you to choose from, there’s no difference than going into ZARA to shop for clothes) at the same time”

I totally agree that it was up to the manager (or client relations) to simply and without blame just state that the sales associate was no longer available to assist. (No need to even mention why) It was up to the manager (or client relations) to say that due to concerns brought to their attention, the brand is concerned with the practice of resale. And then opened up a dialogue, then they could address the long and growing list, that could seem like a reseller list, etc. But for real, fuck it, you should go to another store, shorten that list and make it known that you are looking for your Kelly/ Birkin, period.

I have worked in retail for over 25 years and the reality is whether you are rich or middle class, brands do not have loyalty to you. Shock horror they are only interested in what you spend and that does not translate to loyalty. SA's are not your friend, they have to be friendly and professional. Knowing what I know, I have no loyalty to brands and I do not spend my time saying lovely things about them on youtube . If you carry their products you are already giving them free advertisement. Hermes, does not have a wait list, you have to wait for the bags cos the people who make them can only make a certain amount of bags and because there are not enough people making them. Plus the bags have to be distributed worldwide to their various stores from France. I hope this is the last time you talk about this subject.

I understand that Hermes wants to keep their exclusivity. I can even understand Hermes force selling their less popular absurdly priced items to make more money. But in this time and age people should be treated equal and fair, at least to the best of their ability. Letting SAs have full discretion on who to give bags to and who to favor, potentially allowing discrimination and bully, is not ok. We are way past those times! First of all, bullying is never, ever okay. Good for you for standing for yourself. Unfortunately, whatever your reasons are for selling all those dust bags and boxes I have a very strong gut feeling that Hermes did not like that. From an outsiders point of view, yes you have every right to do what you want they are yours. Hermes management doesn’t see it that way. That is not the type of clientele they want that is being associated with their coveted items. There is a reason why these brand is so exclusive. Just like you, they can reserve the right to sell to people who they think is not fitting for their brand. Do i agree with them? Heck no! To me that is discrimination. If we are good paying customers and are not causing any trouble at the boutique we should be serviced the same way as others. I would love to own one and I envy you that you have coveted bags in your possession. I have the money to buy it. When I went to the store to ask my SA eho by the way is so lovely and sweet. She told me I needed to spend a certain amount in other departments to be able to even get offered a bag. I refuse to spend $50,000 of my hard earned money on stuff I have no use for when all I want is a bag and some shoes. I will not buy a blanket that I know I will not use nor a pillow that will be on display collecting dust and me having to have to spend $ to have it dry cleaned . That is my take on it. If I had $50,000 I don’t care about the Recent Chanel price increase then i will just buy 5 different colored Classic flaps and be done with it. My Pride and well being is more important. I love that you stood out for yourself. Hopefully, after this video you can just move on from it and tell Hermes “Hasta La Vista!” The time, negative energy and aggravation is not worth it. God Bless you Mel. Keep posting videos of other things.

Also if she’s selling them and donating a portion to charity why not donate all of it? It’s just a box like she said…

I’m just pointing out that you’re trying to sound holier than thou for making money off of a box and donating a percentage of it. That said, I’m glad you donate some of your profit because it’s better than nothing. I’m not trying to gain up on you like everybody else, and I genuinely hope you’re doing okay with all of the hate you receive.

never said i was holier than thou. said i donate to charity and logically i donate more than the returns on any packaging and freebies.

Someone I adore on insta said she couldn't sleep and she ended up watching this. I love her so I clicked. For the name of all that is holy the entitled hubris of this leaves me gobsmacked. If the love of money is the root of all evil this obsession with bags is quite literally a signal for the coming apocalypse. There is no bigger picture. You covet things. And that's the beginning and end of the story.

Literally. We have children getting starved and abused en masse around the world and people wanna beg for designer bags? LOL. We are doomed.

Authenticators for brands such as Nike pay close attention to boxes and such. So, I’m surprised that authenticators wouldn’t pay close attention to a Hermès box and dust bag. 🥴🥴🥴
@Purseonfleek3 жыл бұрын
no they dont its not a part of the pre-requisite for authentication online unless you brought the whole item including packaging for authentication.

@@Purseonfleek why do you belittle these salespeople then cry about being the victim? From your comments it seems that you are highly materialistic and catty towards those you consider lowly. I don't trust that you are honest about your role in this drama.

After watching the first video I've seen a few reactions and finally landed on this one. Went to her Instagram and I can tell this lady is faking a rich lifestyle. Initially I was struck by how frumpy she looks for a "rich" person... Partly because of her height and weight probably but the fit if these expensive clothes is shocking. Maybe lessons on grace and decorum and how to wear these expensive things is more important for her.

Hi from Austria, did you watch the video about assuming you sell the items professionally on ebay and that is the reason for Hermes not selling you another bag? What are your feelings and thoughts about that?

Not all got their quota bag because of milestones. I just wait listed and got a call after more than a year. I also did not follow up. Same thing when I got my Kelly. Only patiently waiting and they are also not pushing me to purchase other items. I think each hermes experience is different. If a customer is not happy, it is what it is. If a customer has YT Chanel then there is a platform to talk about it. Hermes can give their items to those they like. Each have their own right. Because these quota bags are very sought after and many still are crazy then the business is still running good :)
@danndeelion3 жыл бұрын
Definitely, each Hermes store is completely different. Some stores you can walk in and buy a birkin without any of the games and others... are nothing BUT games. It sucks for her though because its literally the only store around here less her taking a plane I believe and its not like you can buy a Birkin from their website.

As a long-term Exec in HR, this call from HR to you was so wildly inappropriate it made me crazy. They had no place calling you and further to this, none of you conversations were aggressive. At first I thought, is this perhaps Australia labor rule or some overreaching behavior allowed by government reg. - we would never get away with this in the US. We can't just call from corporate, to customers and step in - this is operations and a general manager should've stepped in. Some of the general comments from the crowd were also ugly - I understand that some do not have this kind of money and it sounds like they don't understand the big picture or the point. I agree with you ... be done with this company. The rules, the process, just outrageous.
@Purseonfleek2 жыл бұрын
Yes wildly bizarre but I heard it's not the first! Apparently it's normal here for HR to call customers if the Sa reports it to HR(so I have been told of a few more instances since my video!) Australia seems to have lost most of our liberties a long time ago no matter our government unfortunately 😓 and if you complain to a gov agency they class it as "poor customer service" and the buck stops there. It's really unfortunate because I too know in the US this wouldn't be tolerated
@annakryzhanovska20242 жыл бұрын
Why would you necessarily need a SA anyway? I don't mean Hermes, i mean Dior or Chanel. Just go to the store and buy a bag, or order it online....Whats the big deal
