I have to disagree with the guy that asked the question on the red meat issue. His doctor, I'm sure, did tell him that, but that doesn't make it true. There's no real science showing harm from red meat, only correlations that equate to completely negligible risk. But, obviously, the cousin thing is a different story. There is *PLENTY* of research showing the insanely high levels of birth defects in Islamic areas that marry cousins. It's extremely high compared to other communities.

I'm not going to lie, regardless of the quality of Zakir Naik's response, this isn't a very good argument against Islam. Firstly, Islam doesn't forbid cousin marriages but it doesn't obligate nor recommend it for everyone. As such, for this argument to work, one needs to demonstrate that the cons of cousin marriages always outweighs the pros. What if someone doesn't have other available options? What if the cousin in question has other traits that outweigh the impact of their offspring's genetic fitness?

If Dr Naik isn't practicing medical then he is not a doctor. If a doctor in England is suspended or kicked off by GMC he is unable to practice medicine. So a title before your name doesn't mean you're a doctor.
