So great seeing you! Now I can stop crawling around my notifications looking for you 😉. @modernbuilds does an awesome job with his school bus as does @Incredibletinyhomes with container and ESP homes. As well as their tiny homes. What you'll get from them are their principles and techniques. Knowing how creative you are, I'm sure you'll be inspired. Hope this helps and best of luck. Tfs

I've mentioned this before but heated flooring might be nice to have in the bathroom or depending on budget the RV. However, I don't know how cold it gets but it might be a nice this to have early mornings/during winter times. Also I am super stoked on the future green house idea. I'm all for it! Love that idea! Also for the sliding door I think it would be good to have a sliding "wall" have a decorative wall to cover the bathroom then could move it left to right if wanting to open up the space your sitting/entertaining in. OR the idea of a "round" wood framed wall. I mean that as the same thing as I said before however the wood would be able to bend and be closer to the wall. It's very hard to describe what I'm talking about on here but if you could invision a up and down wood strips and the movement would be like a curtain in the hospital. How the curtains have a curve for privacy. Although it would be closer to the wall and you could use the wood you already have to add texture. Idn...it's just a thought. GOOD LUCK! As always, I can't wait for the next video! 🤍

You should reach out to Bea and Theo at The Indie Projects. They have a fabulous KZbin channel and have converted vehicles, travel homes and are currently converting an abandoned stone barn in Portugal. Eamon and Bec are another couple that reno vans AND just did a cabin over the last few months. I bet they'd love to give you some advice and they have lots of videos! Missed your vids and I was so happy to see this one uploaded today ❤

Oh my gosh, I’ve been dying to see Rachel Metz yes!!!! Finding Rachel. After a horrible relationship that ended in my life it took me a couple of years to remove all the crap that once defined me, but wasn’t me. It’s liberating to put that old shell off. I love watching you on your journey. These make overs are more exciting because they’re actually YOU and what speaks to you. I love your fearless approach. Each thing you complete the house becomes more and more you!!! You go girl!!!! You’re encouraging the rest of us even this OLD woman. Love it.

I love how much you talk about the emotional parts of projects like this. I bought a 200 year old duplex 4 months ago and spent the last 4 months screwing around, not being able to focus. Overwhelmed by ideas with little action. The last 2 weeks I’ve felt a lot more focused as well, it’s nice to see someone else dealing the same way. I learn so much from you, thank you❤️‍🔥

I have worked for years in construction, I love that you addressed the roof and walls to be dry. So many people do not get "dried in" and pay a hefty price for that lesson. If I was to give you one piece of advice of a next "to do", get that old HVAC unit off the roof and get a mini split heat pump for your new system. Again really do like the spray foam idea as well for insulation, health and comfort are always top priority in remodels then you can do the "fun" stuff. You have a new subscriber. Keep being the best you each day.

When you said, "I fully encourage you changing your space as you change as a human," I really felt that 🖤 In the past I always somehow felt guilty changing a look up that I once liked, especially if I just changed it, but I've learned to consider it a learning opportunity about what I do and don't like and its very comforting knowing others experience this as well.

It isn't RV/MH reno, BUT I am absolutely enthralled by the folks at Good Simple Living as they build their dream home by themselves. Melissa does an ending narration which is always inspiring. It is always a reminder that when you lay down tonight, if something not done when the sun rose is now finished, you are at least moving forward. They acknowledge how overwhelming the dream while they review and celebrate every new skill, task completion, and their perseverance. Sounds like you need some of that as you tackle this. Consider watching latest episode (10/14/21) and see if you don't find inspiration in tackling the daunting!

I also do get overwhelmed with ideas and then suffer focus-wise - I've found that since getting an ADHD diagnosis and getting on medication that it's really helped me calm that part of my brain down and allow me to redirect it into lists/slush piles so that I can circle back to the things I truly find inspirational and move forward on one thing at a time!

Idk if anyone mentioned it but trailers like this rely on the cabinets and floor to ceiling furniture to help support the walls sometimes. Not sure what the winds are like there probably not 60mph you get when towing it so maybe not an issue but I thought I’d let you know in case you didn’t.

Idk if this makes sense but if you want privacy for the bathroom and bedroom but don't want the separation maybe you could do a rounded snake kind of track w/ two barn door style doors in front of one another that on two tracks that cover both rooms instead of a straight track to cover just the main door and not the bathroom. Then when you don't either covered you could tuck them both back to back on the well next to the bathroom and it could be a pretty design element. I hope that made sense! 😅 you're doing great, keep up the incredible work 😊

I'm back after watching the entire video and let me just say I could watch an hour long video of you demoing and painting. I really liked the old bathroom but at the same time I'm glad to see it go. If that makes sense. I think it was really interesting and pretty but not something I'd personally want in my own spaces, and I'm excited to see what you do with it in the future. Also, yes, I definitely feel you when you say you get overwhelmed by having a lot of ideas that are all very far away from where you actually are right now in a project. Definitely feel the same way often. Let me end this by saying seeing your beautiful puppies in your videos never fails to make me smile, they are the most precious babes. Lots of love to you xx

So I have an idea for a bathroom door but I don't know if I am going to be able to describe it very well... here goes nothing! So it looks like a mini double door when it is closed, right at the toilet there, but then you swing both doors out 90 degrees and they then expand to double the size and connect to the wall on the other side. I don't know if the measurements work out or not but it would make it so you didn't have to have the toilet exposed and hanging out in the middle of your house all the time. If it isn't quite long enough to reach the wall on the other side you could add a bit of a built in shelf on the other wall to make up the difference. Who doesn't need more storage in the bathroom!

Feel like would be helpful to map layout of furniture or even moving around bathroom if you’re able to relocate or some aspects since you have more room maybe towards back or in that area it’s in would help then when you demo remaining stuff and rebuild inside can make room for lighting and outlets and built ins

"DIYfferent" remodeled (read that as "rebuilt") a mobile home in Michigan a year or two ago. I say rebuilt, because by the time they got through all the rotten wood, worn pipes, etc., so forth, and so on, they really had rebuilt it. This isn't going to happen overnight, Rachel. Pace yourself. You're building from the ground up, just someone else left a mess for you to clean up first.

Well, welcome back Ms Metz! I love that you're making the best of each and every structure you have on your property n can't wait to see what direction the trailer is going in - even if there are one or two intensely frustrating (pink!) moments. A couple of my fav KZbinrs are Trent and Allie, who did a trailer conversion in 2020. They lived in the the trailer whilst building their cabin in the mountians, so have a few tips and tricks I'm sure. Btw Cali and Blaze are as gorgeous (dahling!) as ever, and sending you all good vibes always x

Just cought the end. You mentioned spray insulation. You hated the glued walls you would despise shooting foam. It's a pita to change or deal with in the future and I would only use it for filler or shooting difficult to reach spaces. Since you are going to studs look into Rockwool great stuff, eco friendly(spray foam takes time to off gas) inexpensive and easily sourced.

i think there's such an emphasis in youtube culture and social media culture for like... a final PRODUCT that will live on forever as is, when i think it's way more realistic to admit that spaces, places and people are always in flux and evolving. here's to the totally normal and relatable concept of change!!!!

also, i feel like past rachel's construction adhesive leading to present rachel having to deal with the fallout is like.... the perfect metaphor for life!!! lmao. god we make mistakes that we KNOW are mistakes as we make them and then we have to figure it out later - and are we better for it??? not always!!! because god, past us was so annoying!! but can come to terms with it and move beyond it and forgive ourselves and just... be better than we were.
