Yo, the heartbeat in the background was cool! Makes me wonder if the heartbeat is the “villain’s” or the hero’s. I’m also pretty curious about the specifics on what the council has done to them (and how it tends to work in general). The fact that the hero ended up naming the “villain’s” guard dogs was a cute touch too. All in all, I appreciate this series so far, and I’m stoked for what may come next!
