Great video, perhaps you could show how to replace a loading gate on a new Red ryder. Sure am having a tough time.

Hi shane. Been watching your videos for awhile and finally decided to start modding my 1938b. is there any way to add some kind of spring magazine to it? I know they can't easily take shot tubes like other models but i'm wondering if it's possible with some fabrication. thanks, and love your videos.

It's not impossible but it does require quite a bit of work. You'll have to remove the gun's current shot tube/abutment assembly, fabricate a new abutment washer and install it. After that the front sight has to be removed along with the loading gate so the spring loaded shot tube can be inserted and removed for loading. It would most likely be much easier to scout out a pre 1978 Daisy with the bottlecap shot tube and go from there.

Howdy, would you know what paint or coating they put on the new Daisy red ryder? Tried paint stripper with no luck, don't know if its powder coating or what.

It's paint, I don't know the color number or makeker for it. What kind of paint stripper did you try?

@RestOModDaisy the tough stuff, I didn't bubble the paint one bit lol. I wanted to try nickle plating and make a shiny red ryder but short of sand blasting the paint won't budge.

@@my_stuff7483 I normally use a bench mounted wire wheel to knock of the rust/paint before fire bluing and never had a problem with the paint on any of the post-78 Red Ryders I've done. Never tried a chemical stripper on one.
