It definitely had the look. Amazing fit on every single piece. What impressed me the most was the contour and reflection down the slab of the sides. From every angle it was just about perfect. The person that did the blocking has the eye and the touch! Well done!

I remember Foose was upset that cars with custom fenders are not treated any reverence or differently than those without fenders. He explained that to incorporate fenders and a make them seamless with the cars over all design concept is not treated with the respect it deserves by the judges. Plus the time it takes to incorporate fenders makes it almost cost prohibitive if a premium car builder wants to enter the competition and still satisfy other clients. That fact has disappointed him and I tend to agree. There was one absolutely gorgeous finalist 4 door? Ford phaeton (sp) at this show (with fenders)that was an absolute standout and in my opinion was the star of the show. I only wish i caught the builders name. I saw it while watching a relatively new UTube, one of my favs now, that previewed all the cars in the running. The UTube show is titled “Killer Customs” who just happened to be at the show. The company owner and his wife took us on a quick tour. Their shop is located in the Okanagan Valley in a little town called Osoyoos just a couple of miles from the Washington State border. I forgot to mention he had a green custom cougar fast back in the show. Very nice!

yes ! i was a contender in 2011 with the 1936 AUBURN ! chip and i talked about the cars ! yes mine was a fullfender car ! i do like the 36 winner !

I saw this car at the show and told myself that if this didn't win AMBR, the contest was fixed. I didn't know that the body is hand-built and not a reworked original. It looks great. I am taken by the top...it fits the car just perfectly and is flawless. I was wondering if it took the top-maker a few tries before the owner and Troy passed it. This represents the rare intersection of mega money, mega fabricating talent and fabulous design. Congratulations to all who were involved with this project. With every AMBR Award, I am left wondering how the owner thanks the builder and how disappointed the losers are.
