My Father (1931-2019) taught Woodworking, Metalworking and Electrical Engineering on College level. And your work and style of wood repair/restauration work reminds me so much of him. Especially when at 3:43 you said; 'You always trust your hands more than your eyes'. There’s hundreds of these people on KZbin ‘upcycling’ beautiful but tired antique and period furniture by chopping it up, throwing away the hardware, taking the dots off, slathering it with chalk paint. They mean well but some of them are ignorant vandals. In 25 years time, new people will be trying to put them all back together again bewildered that this was ever a ‘thing’.

I think nourishing interior cabinet and drawer, runners, drawer stops, shelf/ves with an appropriate non-staining oil could be a nice treat for those woods.
