Simplex are still in business producing the same style jacks they've made for well over a century. They're expensive new even in the West so well worth the effort to overhaul and make serviceable. The telephone pole jack style are the most versatile. If you are new to these jacks PRACTICE USING THE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL UNDER LOAD. I greatly prefer the Simplex to the inferior less safe Duff-Norton ratche design. (Newer versions may be better but I've only used the older ones.) Inspect the aluminum cast versions carefully because aluminum is much weaker than steel and in that application a crack can kill you. Watch cribbing videos to learn how to get "progress capture" (crib as you go to limit falling distance) and never rely on only a jack for support unless you want to become a meat patty. There are plenty of safety videos. Watch them and learn!

Честно сказать - это не реставрация, а уничтожение раритета. Испортить вещь ради контента - ну такое себе...

you should have used penetrating fluid to soak all the joints and pins. It would have saved you alot of work. Even used transmission fluid mixed with or without acetone will work wonders to loosen things up.

@@restorationsskills4967 you definitely have all the tools. If you don't have a press, you can weld a frame to hold one of your jack and make a press yourself.

Damn you guys are rough! Torch is too hot! Don’t heat to red. Get the joint hot then apply oil or penetrant like WD 40. You gonna screw around and break that cast iron. In fact, it IS cracked.
